Big Brown begins Triple Crown series with authoritative Derby score

Big Brown went into the 2008 Kentucky Derby unbeaten and untested after three lifetime starts, and he kept his perfect record intact with another powerful victory.
The main knock on him going in was his lack of seasoning, and I was one of the skeptics, but the fleet colt overcame history and nineteen foes to win the derby convincingly.
The talented early/pressing type always has a chance because of his style, and that should prove beneficial with the Preakness and Belmont Stakes on the horizon.
He seemingly has a realistic shot at ending the Triple Crown drought, but they still have to run the races…and the promising sort still has a long way to go.
