Commentator won his second consecutive Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In Event, and the seven-year-old New York bred barely worked up a sweat in an overwhelming 14-length tally in Saturday’s Massachusetts Handicap from Sullfok Downs.
Typically the pacesetter, Commentator and John Velasquez were content to allow longshot Riversrunrylee to carve out the splits. He took over when Johnny V asked, and it was only a matter of how far he would win by.
The talented Nick Zito trainee ran his nine furlongs in 1:48.97 and paid a whopping $2.20 on the win end.
Commentator would be an interesting addition to the Breeders’ Cup Classic because he owns a similar prominent throughout running style as Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown.
