Labor Day at LAD – September 7th

September 6th Louisiana Downs Recap
Fast track and back on the turf. Early/pressing types best on the main. Stalkers and closers held edge on the weeds.
Cody Meche booted home a pair.
Fly South looked sharp under Carlos Gonzalez in the 8th. The decent juvenile is worth following this winter for Bret Calhoun.
Ucheap disappointed as the fav in the finale, but he was racing wide for the 2nd straight trip. The versatile sort can graduate with a different trip and better post.

July 25th Louisiana Downs Recap
Fast and firm. Edge to early-pressing types on the main. Turf played fair.
Dustin Dugas booted home a pair.

Covetus debuted a winner in the 6th, and that …read more

June 27th recap
Hot and humid conditions once again on Saturday. Early/pressing types dominated on the main. Turf course seemed to favor stalkers and closers.
Went 5-for10 with my top selections.
Hat trick for Sidney Lejeune Jr.
Made it two-for-two with my Horses To Watch . Just Plain Wayne ($4.40) got the job done on Friday, and it was Burt’s A Stitch ($2.60) today. Both recent graduates hail from the fine Michelle Lovell barn.
Best Bet Sligo Joe did not have the cleanest trip in the 7th. He missed 2nd by a head and is worth following. SoCal transplant Angelonmyshoulder was a visually impressive winner for the 2nd …read more
