August 16th Louisiana Downs Recap
Edge to early-pressing types in sprints. Routes played fair. Turf favored stalkers and closers.
Got four tops home including Hot Biscuit ($20.60) and Louisiana Dude ($11). The latter received a great ride by Francisco Torres. He dove down behind the speed from the outside post and drove to a one-length tally in the turf sprint.
Hat trick for Lonnie Meche.
Nice to see veteran gelding Zarb’s Dahar running well again. Dropped all the way down to the $5k claiming level in romping win last time, and he scurried back up to the optional claiming level for his …read more

July 5th Louisiana Downs recap
Wet weather forced the turf races to the sloppy main track, which was upgraded to muddy by race 7. Normal edge to edge/pressing types.
Before Her Time wanted turf in the 3rd, but she remained in despite the surface transfer. She was hardly disgraced in clear show finish and will appreciate a return to the sod next time.
Back classer Zarb’s Dahar dove down to the $5k level and was clearly best in the 6th. Would like to see him scurry back up the ladder next time. My value top Northern Identity was clearly 2nd …read more
