Ventura stormed from off the pace to register a one-length tally in Wednesday’s Grade 2 Vinery Madison from Keeneland. Promising Juddmonte Farms miss proved her ability to handle Polytrack in Great Britain, and she is one in a long line of turf to synthetic success stories. Versatile daughter of Chester House gives Robert Frankel plenty of options in upcoming months.
Street Sounds stalked and pounced her way to a clear place finish, and Dawn After Dawn held the show over the grinding Wild Gams. The top four were all proven synthetic winners, and the $2 superfecta came back a healthy $10,222.40.
The disappointment of the race was Godolphin favorite Zada Belle, but it should be noted that she broke from a tough post and was giving away too much experience. Watch for her to drop back in with allowance friends for a confidence boost before returning to the stakes ranks later this summer.
