Fallout 3: New Vegas Coming Fall 2010

I haven’t played Fallout 3 in months – maybe even a year. OK. I don’t think a whole year but it has been so long I can’t remember the last time Iplayed the game.
Why is this important?
Because Fallout 3 was amazing and wonderful and I LOVED it but after a while, I got incredibly bored with it. I also saw the ending of it while watching Tucker play his save and was so damn disappointed in the crap ending that I didn’t see a reason to keep on playing.
BUT, now I’ve seen the New Vegas trailer and while I can’t …read more
“Bioshock 2” Is Now Available!

The highly anticipated Bioshock 2 was released today and I can imagine that hundreds of copies are flying off the shelves as I type. The original Bioshock was released back in 2007 and they’ve already got a great-looking follow up to the acclaimed game.
The sequel is set about 10 years after the events of the first game and it all unfolds in the underwater city of Rapture. A monster has been kidnapping little girls and you can’t exactly let that continue, can you? In order to help them, though, you’re going to have to survive which might be easier said …read more
“Scene It? Twilight”

Scene It? Twilight will be released this week and, even thought you might not be into it (although, my brother totally shocked me by seeing New Moon and declaring that he is “Team Jacob” so you might be one of those guys who totally digs the books and movies), it could make a pretty sweet Valentine’s Day gift for that special woman in your life.
The Scene It? games are pretty good in general although I find that the questions can range from ridiculously easy to just plain ridiculous. If you are, or know some, Twilight fans, it could make …read more
Xbox 360 Power Pyramid Charger

I’ve got a few consoles kicking around my house and, since I’m environmentally conscious, I prefer to use rechargeable batteries for my controllers. Some of the recharging stations are pretty bulky and when you’ve got more than one gaming device, it can become a bit cumbersome (and ugly).
When I saw the KONNET Power Pyramid charging station for the Microsoft XBox 360 wireless controllers, I have to admit that I thought it looked pretty cool.
Here’s some product details from Amazon:
Charging and Storage Dock for your Game Controllers.
Charge 4 x Controllers simultaneously (XBox 360)
Powered by AC Adaptor (Included) without connection with …read more
Wii Football Accessory

The Wii Football is the latest accessory being released for the console in an effort to enhance realistic playing styles. Some of these are really hit and miss so I’m not sure if this is good or not. If you’ve tried it, let me know. I am curious about whether it makes playing more cumbersome. I’d be so afraid of it flying out of my hand and hitting my TV.
The idea is to allow players to mimic the motions associated with playing real football. It’s the first of its kind and fully encases the Wii Remote but seems to have …read more
Midnight Launch for Return to Rapture

This time tomorrow, you’ll be playing Bioshock 2 Return to Rapture and you won’t be reading this so I better make this quick.
Since you’ve already taken tomorrow off to play Return to Rapture, why not head to GameStop or Best Buy TONIGHT and pick up the much awaited game at midnight. A midnight release means it’s still technically released on the 9th but you get it eight or nine hours earlier than you would have otherwise.
I found out about the midnight release of Return to Rapture from Game Informer and in her piece, Gonzalez included a link to a 2K …read more
“The Tudors” The PC Game

The Tudors is a very popular television show and I can see the allure for history buffs but I’m not as convinced about the necessity of The Tudors: Hidden Object Adventure. Do we really need a video game based on this?
Here’s the Amazon project description: “Political intrigue spans national borders in this historical hidden object game. When King Henry VIII asks you to be his eyes and ears in Europe, you are drawn into a world of deception and murder. As you assume the role of the spy, you will find that even the simplest objects can hold …read more
EA Games and Compatibility with Win 7

If you’ve been holding off on upgrading from XP or Vista to Windows 7 because of fears your games might not be compatible with Windows 7, I have some news that might put your little heart at ease.
While searching through EA’s Customer Support [don't ask], I came across a thread that dealt specifically with Windows 7 compatibility.
What made me rather happy was the list of games which have been tested and have gotten along famously with the new OS.
Here’s the list. Check it twice and remember that just because EA says the games worked, you shouldn’t assume EA is saying …read more
It’s Your Brain’s Fault You Suck at Halo

Remember when I told you about my cousin who used to suck so hard at Donkey Kong that he jump on the controller?
I postulated that my cousin may have had a deeper pathology going on up in his noggin’ and I was right! Sort of.
According to the journal Cerebral Cortex, some people’s brains just aren’t wired for awesomeness when it comes to gaming.
So, while I am AMAZING at Donkey Kong, my cousin is horrible and I suspect if you scanned our brains, you would find my superiority lies not with my mad skillz but with the way my brain works.

NES Retro Classic Controller USB

I don’t care how fancy controllers get nowadays, I’m always going to have a soft spot for the first one that I fell in love with. Sure, there were only four buttons and one directional pad but that’s all that was needed – in fact, it was more than enough!
If you’ve ever felt nostalgic for the good ol’ days, you might want to pick up an NES Retro Classic Controller USB. You can’t use it with the Wii or anything but you can use it with PC or Mac games.
It’s not ergonomic, it’s got too few buttons …read more
