Scene It? Twilight will be released this week and, even thought you might not be into it (although, my brother totally shocked me by seeing New Moon and declaring that he is “Team Jacob” so you might be one of those guys who totally digs the books and movies), it could make a pretty sweet Valentine’s Day gift for that special woman in your life.

The Scene It? games are pretty good in general although I find that the questions can range from ridiculously easy to just plain ridiculous.  If you are, or know some, Twilight fans, it could make for a fun evening to go head-to-head as you prove your knowledge about the vampire storyline.

Here are some game details:

Xbox 360 Power Pyramid Charger

The idea is to allow players to mimic the motions associated with playing real football.  It’s the first of its kind and fully encases the Wii Remote but seems to have a pop out hand strap to help keep it secure on your hand.

The buttons on the Wii remote are mirrored on the outside of the casing, allowing players to have full access to them without interrupting play.

Wii Football Accessory

Since you’ve already taken tomorrow off to play Return to Rapture, why not head to GameStop or Best Buy TONIGHT and pick up the much awaited game at midnight. A midnight release means it’s still technically released on the 9th but you get it eight or nine hours earlier than you would have otherwise.

I found out about the midnight release of Return to Rapture from Game Informer and in her piece, Gonzalez included a link to a 2K You Tube video since the Special Edition won’t be released at midnight with the regular game.

The video shows the unboxing of the Special Edition along with an Uber Edition. It’s worth the four minutes to watch it…just don’t read the comments on the video; some of those people are downright mean.

Midnight Launch for Return to Rapture

Here’s the Amazon project description: “Political intrigue spans national borders in this historical hidden object game. When King Henry VIII asks you to be his eyes and ears in Europe, you are drawn into a world of deception and murder. As you assume the role of the spy, you will find that even the simplest objects can hold vital clues.”

I guess I can see this as an educational tool but I’m not entirely convinced that I would spend money on it.  I do like hidden object games, though, so maybe I’d play it if someone else bought it for me.

“The Tudors” The PC Game

While searching through EA’s Customer Support [don't ask], I came across a thread that dealt specifically with Windows 7 compatibility.

What made me rather happy was the list of games which have been tested and have gotten along famously with the new OS.

EA Games and Compatibility with Win 7

I postulated that my cousin may have had a deeper pathology going on up in his noggin’ and I was right! Sort of.

According to the journal Cerebral Cortex, some people’s brains just aren’t wired for awesomeness when it comes to gaming.

So, while I am AMAZING at Donkey Kong, my cousin is horrible and I suspect if you scanned our brains, you would find my superiority lies not with my mad skillz but with the way my brain works.

I love it when science backs up what I’ve always suspected: my cousin’s brain is wired wrong.

It’s Your Brain’s Fault You Suck at Halo

If you’ve ever felt nostalgic for the good ol’ days, you might want to pick up an NES Retro Classic Controller USB.  You can’t use it with the Wii or anything but you can use it with PC or Mac games. 

It’s not ergonomic, it’s got too few buttons for any titles past NES but who cares?  You’re buying it for the memories, my friends, and it will be totally worth it. 

In fact, I wouldn’t be disappointed if I was sent one to review (wink, wink!).

“Star Trek Online” Available Now!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS had an issue with Inferno’s tagline “Go to Hell” and the ad will still run except “Go to Hell” will be changed to “Hell Awaits”.

Semantics, people!

Because really, is there THAT much difference between “go to hell” and “hell awaits”? The images in the trailer aren’t changing…just that last part.

Whatever. In this case, EA still wins out since Super Bowl 44’s audience is still going to see the ad, a butt ton of them are going to buy the game AND they’re getting free publicity from the pseudo controversy.

I love happy endings.
