Gmail Displaying Embedded Email Images

Gmail has this setting where you can tell it to always display images from a certain recipient. That’s a really good feature because it gets annoying to always click on the "Display images below" link.
The problem is that it doesn’t matter either way. No matter how many times it appears that I click on the "Always display images…." option instead, I always have to click on it again to see the images in an email.
Where does this setting get stored? Is it a cookie? Do I lose it when I have Firefox clear private data? Is that why I sometimes also lose my Google search preferences?
Let me know if you have that answer, that would be great!

Me also I am getting a lot of emails still annoying to me
I have this exact same problem, although it only started two days ago. It’s really annoying, and I found your site using a google search, although there’s NO help on the gmail page itself. Here’s hoping the google team is working on it and it fixes itself.
This is happening recently to me as well, and yes, it is VERY frustrating! Here’s hoping a fix arrives soon enough.
Same here: the problem started a few days ago. Before that, the settings were stable.
Someone suggested to me that it may be a lab conflict… worth checking out.
This is driving me crazy also. I haven’t changed any of my lab setups for a long time, so it seems funny that that would be a cause, when it was working for a long time before that.
Hope they fix it real soon.
I am having this issue as well. Super annoying! I don’t use anything from Labs either.
I wish they just had a global setting to “always display images”.
This is still happening to me. Looked all through about:config in Firefox and didn’t find anything that looks like it would apply. Has anyone found a fix yet?
