One of the things I heard last night in the President’s address to Congress and the American people is that there’s been a new website setup for the economic bailout. It can surely be said he is still using technology and social media to expand his touch and communication with the citizens of the United States and anyone else that wants to listen.

The Recovery.gov website was setup to let taxpayers identify and understand where the money they’re lending to all these people is actually going. I like the transparency of it all. Let’s hope it’s stays accurate and updated in a timely fashion.

One thing I saw that was missing is an RSS feed for me to stay up-to-date on what’s happening on the site without me having to go back regularly and check for myself.

Who are these people? They were all in attendance as Barack Obama became our nation’s 44th president. What’s impressive though is the photograph that this little picture came from.

The image above is a SERIOUSLY reduced image of what is originally a 1,474 MP image that was taken on inauguration day. See the little red box I’ve put in there on the far right? That’s the approximate location of the original image above zoomed in to view.

A great video of a letter that was written by Barbara and Jenna Bush to Barack Obama’s little girls, Malia and Sasha, as they enter into a magical kingdom called growing up in the Whitehouse.

Barbara and Jenna are reading the letter in the video. I think it’s a poignant moment to remember that both the exiting President and newly inaugurated President Barack Obama are still fathers, husbands, sons and brothers to others and we should all respect them as such.

Apologies for the significant delay in posts here on Uncover the Internet. It seems like every time you have big plans to do something some catastrophe awaits you to ruin your week. This week for me it’s been recovering and rebuilding from a computer meltdown that also included my back-up drive. Arrggh! If you’re interested in any of the details and fixes I’ve worked through, be sure and jump over to Microsoft Weblog for more details.

In the meantime there’s more important things to pay attention to and if you haven’t noticed we’ve got ourselves an election year here in the United States. You’d probably be more likely to not be able to remember the name of your own kids than to not know who we’ve got on the tickets for both parties, but the question is who do you really agree with in the end?

ABC has put together a little site that let’s you answer a few questions about how much you know about each candidate and then they’ll tell you more closely who you should vote for in the elections coming up in a couple of months.

The site presents you with two quotes, one from each candidate, about a specific topic. You just select the quote that you agree with more and then you’ll be presented with who you’re siding with the most. Not too much surprise on my end who I’m siding with, I still think the best option isn’t on the table though.
