Yahoo 360 Shutting Down

Yahoo 360 was developed as a new social media portal platform that in my opinion never really took off. It was supposed to combine a social network functionality with all the content aggregation from other sources that you’re actively involved. It’s not a huge shock to me it’s shutting down.

I had a Yahoo 360 account because I had a Yahoo account. I’m not sure I ever used the Yahoo 360 platform. Did anyone really use it on purpose? To me it was just another one of those services that really wasn’t thought through well and didn’t offer anything new that somebody else wasn’t already doing and executing the idea better to go along with it.

Will Yahoo 360 be missed? I doubt it. Where do you aggregate your online information instead.

Part of uncovering great and interesting sites is to take advantage of finding them no matter where they come from on the web right?

PC Magazine has an article where they are highlighting The Top 100 Undiscovered Web Sites.

The editors have broken down their list into the following categories:

  • Apps and Services
  • Fun and Games
  • Health and Science
  • Info, Search, and Reference
  • Lifestyle
  • Money and Real Estate
  • Music
  • News
  • Photo
  • Shopping
  • Social Networking
  • Technology
  • Travel and Maps

Every single category is loaded with great, helpful and interesting websites. I’d love to hear what some of your favorites are in each category. Which ones are you using? Which ones should I be immediately saving to my list of bookmarks for future and repeated use?

One thing I’ve been looking for on the article though is a link to a zip file of all the sites that you can quickly load into your favorites. They used to do that on previous articles didn’t they? Or was that PC World’s version of their lists?

Uncover an undiscovered website of your own with PC Magazine.

UPDATE: Here’s the link to download the ZIP file with all the sites.

You keep finding all those great sites and hopefully are enjoying the ones we highlight here on Uncover the Internet. But you may be asking, “But what do I do with all those favorites and bookmarks?”

This post will focus on the various bookmarking and social linking sites that are available on the web to categorize, organize and evangelize your favorites. It comes down to personal preference in the end, but here’s the majority of the popular ones for getting started.

Thanks to Paul Drago at Performancing.com for the list of sites. You can get more of his opinions and details at the Performancing site here and here.
