Chatting It Up With Complete Strangers on Omegle

One of the things I really enjoyed in my early days of being online were the chat rooms on America Online. The idea that there was almost always a room full of people somewhere talking about stuff that probably interested me was intriguing.
The Omegle website brings back some of that feeling for me. The biggest difference is you’re not sharing a chat room with a bunch of people though. It’s just you and one other person and you’re thrown together randomly.
Both of you are completely anonymous aside from whatever information you decide to share with each other while you’re chatting.

Trillian Launches Web Version Beta

I’ve been a user of Trillian now for quite a number of years. Today I was welcomed with the message that they have launched a new web version of their aggregated instant messaging chat client. They’ll be competing with the likes of Digsby, eBuddy and Meebo.
The Trillian web client incorporates a general desktop look and feel, minus all of your other windows. I can understand this metaphor as can most computer users, but I’m not sure it’s the best use of space.
