With the beginning of August 2009 I ended a 15 year negative habit and the resulting consequences of those 15 years. In July we paid off our last credit card to a complete $0 balance across the board. I can tell you from my personal experience, the weight that was lifted feels incredible to no longer carry. We still have bills we’re focusing on with medical bills, car payment and those darn school loans to get rid of next.

Now it’s time for a bit of political humor. Jon Stewart shares a moment with from "The Daily Show" with a bit called "That’s Great Now Fix the Economy". With the stimulus package passed and money still being spent with no end in site. Here’s a little bit of humor to lighten the day.

With the future economy situation staring us in the face, I can tell you one thing, figuring out how to educate my kids on a couple of different things:

Teach them how to not make the same mistakes that I have as a child, teenager, college student and now an adult.
Teach them how to be flexible and understand how to adjust what they know and learn to the current financial situation.
