I was over at a friend’s house this evening and their kids wanted to play on Spelling City with my little girl. I’ve never heard of the site and I liked it immediately after finding out more about what the site provides to students.
The Spelling City website lets your sign-up and register as a parent and then have you kids sign-on and practice their own spelling words. The website allows you to add your kid’s spelling words into the site. This lets your kids practice their own words, not just general spelling words.
The other great feature is that teachers can …read more

Here’s an interesting website that may come in handy for a number of people about this time of year. If you’re in college, you’ll probably understand that this website could come in pretty handy for you when trying to make sure you’re going to be absolutely prepared for your upcoming finals.
There’s a bit of a concern on my end about plagiarism, but it’s very slight. See I’ve never been one to really value or demand perfect attendance. This was especially the case in college where I had a few classes where attendance was a waste of time. Nothing discussed in …read more

A 2-D object with five sides is called a pentagon right? What’s the same shape called in a 3-D format? That was the question at hand, and we found the answer quickly at the Interactives 3D Shapes information on the Math Interactives section.
The website is a part of the larger group that’s Annenberg Media Learner.org.
Getting back to the website, it was loaded with great information, engaging visuals and the ability to interact …read more

One of the things that I notice frequently among those immediately around me is when people mispronounced or misuse words or grammar.
The YourDictionary.com site has an article titled "100 Most Often Mispronounced Words and Phrases in English". I’m sure out of 100 there are probably a couple I’ve messed up at least once. How will you do?
I found this site thanks to Nikki Katz Stumbling it earlier and me seeing it. Great find!
Make sure you’re not looking stupid, …read more

I just received an e-mail from Upromise talking about a new $25,000 Upromise Scholarship Prize.
If you’re not familiar with Upromise, it’s something like a frequent shopper or “Points” program, but you don’t have to do anything special to earn money to put towards your kid’s education. All you do is register your credit/debit cards and when you buy stuff at your local grocery stores and restaurants, you earn money back that can be put into a variety of investments, 529’s and other savings plans to use towards college.
You can also make purchases through their online store links and earn more …read more
