It’s a marketing tool as well and the idea is to swarm a location or establishment with business. What company wouldn’t want that kind of attention?!

With coupons, you did like I did tonight and save a few bucks on a variety of different grocery items.
With coupons, you did like I did tonight and save a few bucks on a variety of different grocery items. Groupon let’s you save real money on some really great stuff that you’d like to do, but you didn’t want to spend the full price on it to do it.

Groupon was started by some folks in Chicago, just a short drive to north of Indianapolis and they did it so they could “enjoy all the great stuff in our hometown of Chicago”. Sounds like a good enough reason for me.

Groupon has grown to over a million users who have collectively saved more than $25 million with the service. That’s a pretty good track record for a site that hasn’t been around very long at all.

Have some fun, save some money. Groupon continues to expand, soon it will be in your city if it’s not already there now: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Minneapolis/St.Paul, Nashville, New York, Omaha, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington DC.

Inexpensively gives you opportunities to save, the latest alerts on great deals available both online and off, getting the most out of your grocery budget and capitalizing on coupons. You can also see frugal bloggers organized by your state.

It’s hard to change a behavior that’s been cultivated in your life over a period of years. It’s even harder when you realize that just about everything you read, watch on TV or see on the Internet is trying to sell you something.

Here’s another online contest where you could win $250,000 to pay off your mortgage. In economic times like these, getting rid of that house payment would really come in handy wouldn’t it?
Just to give you an idea of the scale, that $700B bailout we all just paid for would have been enough money to award $250,000 to 2,800,000 homeowners. I’d say that would have helped the economy a bit too. That would have been an Extreme Financial Makeover: Home Edition.

Here’s another online contest where you could win $250,000 to pay off your mortgage. I’d say that would have helped the economy a bit too. That would have been an Extreme Financial Makeover: Home Edition.

Since that didn’t happen, the next best thing is to enter the contest and see if you can win your own mortgage getting paid off. I’ve got to read the instructions though, if I won that money, I’d pay of this house, sell it at a loss and go buy us a bigger house a big discount with the housing market the way it is. Wonder if I can use it for that.

Just follow this link to enter the contest. You are signing up for a free trial subscription for Popular Mechanics magazine. I’m a subscriber and love it, but I also know this is one magazine that makes it easy to cancel your subscription if you want to after the trial.
