I’ve got loads of old books, audio cassettes and VHS tapes and other media stashed in closets and boxes throughout the house. I’m a bit of a pack rack, especially when it comes to something that I spent good money on when it was new, even if it’s not worth quite that much now.
The Old Switcheroo website provides a Web 2.0 spin on what we used to call a swap meet in the little country town where I grew up.
Old Switcheroo is like any healthy relationship: it’s give and take. You give others your stuff, so that at some …read more

I absolutely love playing Monopoly. I would love to participate in a Monopoly tournament and I can have that chance now on the Hasbro Monopoly website.
What I didn’t realize is that there is a TON of strategy and statistics that should be known to be a complete master of this game. That I don’t have yet.

First there was the Falling Sand Game, now you’ve got falling sand art with the ThisIsSand.com website.
Just visit the site, click your mouse and start sprinkling sand across the page. As you can see from my quick image above, you can create various piles and even change the color of your sand to create some pretty cool effects.
My kids love this kind of stuff and it’s also the type of thing that could end up sucking away far too much of the work day if you’re not careful.
Let’s see what you can create!

Fellow b5 blogger has uncovered a fun, online Iron Man video game that’s tied into the new Iron Man movie, which by the way is an amazing super hero movie! I’ve got to watch Batman Begins, Spider-Man and Iron Man again to decide if it’s the best super hero movie ever.
The game tests some basic skills that Robert Downey, Jr’s character, Tony Stark, had to master as he became Iron Man.
I didn’t do so well, but had a “BLAST” doing it.

After my latest post about the NationStates site, it made me reminisce about the hours I used to spend playing Sid Meier’s Civilization or “Civ” games. It all started with Civilization of course and now we’re up to Civ4. This game is like Risk on steroids. A combination of Risk and SimCity all rolled into one great time game that simply sucks away the hours of your day as you become engrossed in “just one more turn”.
This is the strategy game for strategists in my opinion. Interesting graphics and educational as well. As soon as my son is old enough, …read more
