A friend of mine sent me an email with these photos of the various food treats that are available for fans and athletes at this year’s Olympic Games in Beijing.
I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to trying things, some of these make me at least pause to think about whether or not I’d be popping these snacks into my mouth.
You can read about these various treats on this news article about the food being served at the Olympics.

We’ve had a bit of an issue in the Bean household the last week or so with some annoying little critters. We’ve had issues with ants crawling all over our kitchen counter and getting in our cat food bowl as well. My son’s room has been infested with flying ants too. At first we thought they were termites, but we found out some information on the Internet about how to determine if they were flying ants instead of termites. Wheew!

Wheew!

We actually just got back from camping this past weekend and it was nice (but sad) that we had less issues with bugs outside than we did in our own house the week before.

Sounds like time to do something to me. Tonight while working on some other things I saw a commercial for Orkin that directed you to their Pest Threat website. I did.

After a few quick questions about your house and situation, they allow you to send your information to Orkin for someone to get back to you, which is obvious, but also gives you some nice information about the various insects you may have to worry about based on the answers to your questions and your geographic location.

I’m hoping since I responded to the ad I can get some good pricing on having them take care of our issues. If you’ve got some insect problems of your own, you might want to give their website a try, even if it’s just questions that make you think about your own situation a little deeper, as well as the insects you may be dealing with in your own home.

I was catching up on some blog posts and came across a couple of posts on Whittaker Woman’s blog where she’s asking about a few interesting bugs she’s come across in their Atlanta, GA home. You see her and her husband are recent relocations from Southern California and are experiencing all the new bugs that call Georgia home along with the Whittakers.
What’s a person to do when confronted with a domestic insect in their home and have no idea what it is or the threat it may present?
Check-out What’s That Bug? to get all the details.

They’re going through a redesign now. It would be really cool if you could go there and select a couple of bug-related features like: lots of legs, fat, skinny, flying, crawling and be able to kind of look-up what your mystery bug may be from a database.

Then when you get some hits you’re presented with pictures of what it could be.
