How many times have you been mindlessly surfing through the web and halfway oblivious to the world around you? You’re paying attention but you’re almost numb to really what’s happening in front of your eyes. Then you see it. It kind of catches you off guard and immediately you’re alert and perhaps irritated. You’ve just seen a SparkWord.
A SparkWords is something you read and you’re immediately "sparked" with emotion. It could be a variety of emotions, but you immediately feel something inside of you.
The SparkWords site allows you to jump into the topics of interest for you. Share your thoughts …read more

I received this in an email from someone and thought it was pretty interesting. Not so much for the humor of it, but really for the mental changes that take place through the message, and how our brains do a fairly good job of adjusting quickly to those changes and allowing the reader to continue to understand what the message is saying.

Okay, it’s not technically caught on “Film” but “…Caught in Pixels” didn’t quite sound right even though it’s probably more accurate.
Regardless, the point of the Wordsplosion site is to highlight a variety of grammar, well, let’s just say what they say, it can’t be said much better or succinctly.
Wordsplosion brings you the best of the worst of the world of
grammatical errors, punctuation gaffes, misspellings, typography etc.
We call this family of textual catastrophes “wordsplosions.”
If you’ve caught some of these types of accidents yourself, you can e-mail them and share with the world too. Just send the image to images@wordsplosion.com
I’m not sure …read more

A friend of mine that spent the majority of her formative years growing up as an American in Japan just uncovered this site for me.
It reminds me of some of the funny pictures you see on the icanhascheezburger lolcats website, but all of this humor circles around language instead of animals.
Surfing through the site reminds me of some of the great comments that were made in some of my communication classes in college. One of my favorite professors was Korean and he just cracked me up with how he would say some words.
It was almost funnier when he knew …read more
