I’m not sure why, but I remember as a kid reading through the classifieds and finding a section of "ads" from people who had met each other randomly but didn’t really exchange contact information. They would put up an ad and hope the other person would read it and remember the event.
The Blinka.me website is attempting to take that whole "reconnect" effort and webify it with some good ol’ Web 2.0 charm.

XING – Another Professional Network

I received an invitation from an extended member of my professional network. He sent me a link to join him on another network, XING – Global networking for professionals.
I recently heard of XING as I was reading the book "The Truth About Profiting from Social Networking" by Patrice-Anne Rutledge.

I continue to connect and reconnect with a variety of people via Facebook. One of the features of the site though is that they try and be helpful with introducing you to people you may now. The only problem is that I don’t know hardly any of the people they ever mention in the little box.
