I’m really not sure what to say about the HavenWorks.com site. It does literally leave me speechless. It appears that it’s a randomly thrown together collection of links and information on current news events and politics.

The design is the draw, or repellant depending on your viewpoint. It reminds me of a website I featured awhile back because of it’s "design qualities". The HavenWorks.com site is much more text heavy, it’s all just overwhelming.

Would anyone ever really use a site like this as a regular source of information?

Apologies for the significant delay in posts here on Uncover the Internet. It seems like every time you have big plans to do something some catastrophe awaits you to ruin your week. This week for me it’s been recovering and rebuilding from a computer meltdown that also included my back-up drive. Arrggh! In the meantime there’s more important things to pay attention to and if you haven’t noticed we’ve got ourselves an election year here in the United States. You’d probably be more likely to not be able to remember the name of your own kids than to not know who we’ve got on the tickets for both parties, but the question is who do you really agree with in the end?

ABC has put together a little site that let’s you answer a few questions about how much you know about each candidate and then they’ll tell you more closely who you should vote for in the elections coming up in a couple of months.

The site presents you with two quotes, one from each candidate, about a specific topic. You just select the quote that you agree with more and then you’ll be presented with who you’re siding with the most. Not too much surprise on my end who I’m siding with, I still think the best option isn’t on the table though.

I was going to say it’s that time of year again, but it’s been that time of year for a couple of months. Most people have already filed their taxes, but I still haven’t. I really need to get that done.

Regardless of your timing for doing your taxes, have you ever wondered where all that tax money goes that’s collected each year?

The TaxTrackr website will give you just the information you’ve been curious about. And you know it’s got to be cool because they spelled it without the “er” at the end.

All you need to do is put in your amounts for income, social security, medicare, etc and you can find out how much of all of that goes for items like defense, education, international affairs and more.
