You’ve got questions? AnswerBag.com has the answers. Actually, AnswerBag’s million+ users have the answers and they love sharing them as quickly as possible. A wide variety of topics are available, so the likelihood of getting the answer you need is high.
I tested the service a bit with a few technical questions about computers. The answers were appropriately targeted with additional information available in the comments from others that go along with the threaded display of the information shared. I like this format as many times the information shared in comments by others provides additional viewpoints and options for answers …read more

There’s another new search tool hitting the Intertubes. This one is called Spezify and it’s out of Stockholm, Sweden. The search is straight forward, put in your search term or phrase and hit enter. The change is how the information is displayed to you visually.
As you can see from the screen shot above after searching for my online persona, "Bnpositive" the results are hitting from my twitter updates, Tumblr, blog posts, flickr images and a variety of other sources. It’s all presented in a flowing collage of data that you can either use the scroll bars at the bottom and …read more
Viewzi – A New Way to See Search Results

Viewzi has been around now for quite awhile but for whatever reason I’m just now getting around to really talking about it on the website. It’s a vastly different way to see and review your search results, but it’s one of those areas for me where I’m not sure if it will really replace Google as my main search engine of choice.
You can choose to show your search results as simple text or as a collection of thumbnails as I’ve shown above after a quick search for b5media.
You can further simplify and organize your results.
Give Viewzi a try it may …read more
Cuil Makes Search Cool Again

Cuil.com brings another search player into town to do battle with the existing sites that we’re all already familiar.
It used to be that Google was the king of simple design and layout but Cuil.com makes Google’s homepage look more like a cramped portal site with more items there to distract you from what you’re really there to do… search!
The Internet has grown exponentially in the last fifteen years but search engines have not kept up—until now. Cuil searches more pages on the Web than anyone else—three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft.
Rather than …read more
Scour – Search the web and get paid for it

Jake just let me know about a new site called Scour that lets you search the web like you normally would but adds a few different things to the mix:
Get results from Google, Yahoo, and MSN all together
Rate search results instantly
Get rewarded by searching with Scour
Why does it seem to be so hard for me to think about using any search engine other than Google as my default? I’m sure that’s exactly what Google is wanting me to think though isn’t it?
I like the concept, but one thing I immediately noticed that I don’t like is …read more

Dogpile has a little fun promotion going on right now where you can send a little bit of a humorous spoof e-mail to your friends on April Fool’s Day this year.

Have you ever been searching around the internet, or Googling for that little bit of information that you just can’t find the right answer for online? Or maybe you’re really wanting to get the information from someone you’d pretty much qualify as an expert.
Squidoo foots the bill on all counts.
I’ve been using Squidoo for awhile now, I actually got in on some of the initial beta release of testing it out and getting my “lens” established. The only problem is that life crowded out the amount of time I spent on my own lenses, but I keep going back to …read more
Roll Your Own Search at Rollyo

Ever wish you could quickly search a specific list of websites for that little bit of information you might need? For instance, what if you could search all the different alumni type sites for the name of the girl that sat next to you in the 3rd grade?
Or, you can’t figure out the little bit of code you need for that ASP.NET application you’ve been working on for the past 36 hours straight while chugging Starbuck’s Venti Chai Tea Latte’s?
Rollyo is the site you’ve been waiting for in the realm of search. Sure Google’s good, but sometimes you’d like …read more
