There are two sounds effects in this world that are absolute classics! The problem is when you need them you just can’t figure out where to find them. These two websites have solved that for you and given you exactly what you’ve needed.

Phone Zoo – Grab a New Ringer for Your Phone

When I first got on the Internet I loved collecting wav sounds. My favorites were clips from movies, theme songs or sound f/x. I would store hundreds of these things on stacks of 3.5" floppy disks. These days there’s no reason to really collect them yourself when you can find just about anything you want online whenever you want.

The PhoneZoo website provides just that source for you. With their website you’re looking for a new ringer and they have thousands to choose from in your search. The challenge is finding one that won’t truly embarrass you if your phone rings in an inappropriate time showcasing that special ringer you’ve found.

Star Wars Sound Board

I may be going out on a limb here, but I’m going to guess we’ve got a number of Star Wars fans that are probably visiting this site and reading this post. I figure you’ll probably be interested in the Star Wars Sound Board website.

The site provides quality samples from all the different movies and they’re categorized by the different stars or groups of people. Sounds from Chewbacca, Luke, Leia, Han, Jawas and Ewoks to name a few.

Once you’ve created your custom mix of sounds, you can share your creation on a variety of social websites or email them to your friends (here’s a quick segment I created of Chewbacca).

It’s too bad you can’t download the sounds as MP3’s. I could really jump on making a few different custom cell phone ringers with the site. Guess that would be providing a little too much freedom on this copyrighted media though.
