It’s been awhile now since I first started struggling with trying to figure out why Yahoo! Mail always kept forgetting who I was when I would login and tell them specifically to remember me.

Now I can say that they do remember me and I’m not sure if it was really their fault to begin with anyway. I finally cleared all my cookies and cache setting, deleted my Google Bookmark that I was using and even switched my default browser from IE7 to Firefox back and forth a couple of times. I know, I was just taking stabs in the dark at that point.

The good news is though that Yahoo! now remembers me. Now if I could just figure out what exactly caused it so I’ll be sure and not repeat the problems again.

Maybe I haven’t clicked on an image attached to an email in my Yahoo! account for quite some time, but I think this is new.

Yahoo! Mail now uses the “lightbox” functionality and feature to let you preview and see image attachments in your e-mails. In the past I think I’ve always just clicked on file name itself and downloaded the images to view them, but bad aim this morning caused me to click the image itself and I got this preview.

It’s a minor thing but I think it adds a lot to the page as for the aesthetics and functionality for users.

One thing I’ve done from the beginning of my days on the Internet has been to take advantage of free e-mail addresses from places like Juno, Yahoo!, Hotmail and Gmail. One of the newest providers I’ve come across is GMX and I’ve been happy with them so far, even though I still don’t use them as a primary provider.

One thing I’ve never done is relied upon the e-mail addresses provided by whomever is my ISP at the time. The problem with that is if you ever change ISP’s you’ve got to let everyone know your e-mail address changed as well. That’s just too much of a pain for everyone to keep up with when it does happen.

A feature I really like about GMX even though I haven’t started to use it yet is that I can consolidate all of my e-mail to that interface if I desire.

Another feature GMX has that I just recently saw though is a built-in, online file storage solution. They even have a File Storage Manager tool that you download to your PC to mirror and manage your online file storage on GMX’s servers.
