Uncover the Internet

Time for a House Party!

houseparty

Hosting a HouseParty is NOT your mamma’s normal Tupperware party. I can say that though since there’s a long history of Tupperware dealers in my family.

My friend Cherie uncovered this little nugget of joy from the vast expanse of the inter-webs.

The website organizes parties at different individual’s homes and promote things from toys, to new TV shows, to movies and food and other household products.

House Party is a highly specialized viral marketing platform that develops and launches a thousand or more highly engaging parties in the homes of carefully selected consumers, all of which take place on the same day. The parties are attended by the host’s friends, families, neighbors and co-workers and shared by millions more who experience the party via the Internet.

A House Party is a fun, authentic, natural feeling party in the home of a trusted friend, with a brand or handful of brands injected into the center to help heighten key elements of these fun parties.

From the descriptions I’ve read on a number of the parties, the events are scheduled so that 1,000 home all over the nation are experiencing the product all at the same time. Sounds better than any 30 second commercial spot to me.

My friend is already signed up for a Fisher-Price party and I think I’m going to get my wife to do one for a Canon Scrapbooking party. Regardless, what a great way to get the word out and about and in the hands of actual consumers to see what they think. It’s taking word-of-mouth marketing to a whole new level.

Obviously, I’m a fan! I’m getting about $250 of FP merchandise for free. :) I just happened to be online when the invite came through and my quick reflexes paid off!

Wonder how much it would cost for me to throw a Noobie party?
