Celebrate New Year’s Eve in NYC Online

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in NYC Online

What are you doing New Years? New Year’s Eve? Those are the lines from a classic holidays song, but when they wrote it, they never thought of the answer being to celebrate it from the comfort of my couch watching what’s happening in New York City from my computer.

If you haven’t decided what you’re doing and are kind of leaning on being unsocial in the real world, but still be connected virtually, then have we uncovered the deal for you.
The Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment have partnered with Livestream for the first time to offer a new, international six …read more

John Hodgman a.k.a Mr. PC’s Blog

If I say "Mr. PC" most people would know who I’m talking about immediately. If you don’t know who I’m talking about then you probably don’t watch TV or keep in touch with the Apple vs. PC. commercials.

Mr. John Hodgman is more than just the PC guy in the commercials. He’s actually quite the intellectual and comedy writer. If you visit his site you can read lots of his opinions on everything you can imagine.
Before he went on television, JOHN HODGMAN was a humble writer, expert, and Former Professional Literary Agent living in New York City. In this capacity, …read more

U2 Concert Live on YouTube – Is It Now U2be

U2 Concert Live on YouTube – Is It Now U2be

Perhaps we should just shorten it to U2be. What do you think? Not sure why I hadn’t heard of this concert happening before now, but you can watch U2 perform live on YouTube tonight from their Rose Bowl concert.

I went and saw the U2 in 3D concert at my local IMAX theater last year (or was it two years ago?) and it was amazing. My first thought of watching a concert in a theater wasn’t too high of an expectation, but it turned out to be a really great experience.
I’m guessing watching a concert live on YouTube might be similar. …read more

Profiles in History Auction Item Sales List

Profiles in History Auction Item Sales List

Last month I covered the Profiles in History auction that was taking place online. You could have bid on an original Mac computer that was given to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry by Apple. I just got an email listing some of the other items that were available to bid and that others won.

There were some really cool items auctioned off, both from a historical significance and for those sci-fi and movie buffs. Check-out these items and the prices they went for in the auction.

$141,600 – Original Amelia Earhart flight goggles worn during her historic 1932 solo transatlantic flight. …read more

Michael Jackson’s "This Is It" Move Trailer

Michael Jackson’s "This Is It" Move Trailer

It’s not impacted my daily life. Not sure if anyone would be surprised by that or not. What am I talking about? The loss of Michael Jackson. I will say that the music industry has a gap to fill. Putting his personal life and media attention aside, the talent and skill of King of Pop as a musician, singer and dancer is probably unmatched to date and for some time to come.

Taking footage from his upcoming tour rehearsals and other behind the scenes footage, they’ve produced a "THIS IS IT" movie. I’ll probably end up taking in the movie when …read more

Ima Let You Finish – Immortalizing Kanye West

Ima Let You Finish – Immortalizing Kanye West

Even if you didn’t watch the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, you’ve probably heard about the actions taken by Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech. Kanye exhibited an absolutely negative level of class or respect during the event. Now there’s a website that will help him forever be immortalized for his actions.

Now, with the Ima Let You Finish website you can playfully interrupt anyone else you’d like with your own version of Kanye’s efforts. You can download a cutout of Kanye interrupting Taylor’s performance and add it to your own graphic or video to have some fun.

Uncover a Movie You Love with Criticker

Uncover a Movie You Love with Criticker

I haven’t seen G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra yet, but I really want to. I know the critics have given mixed reviews but one thing I’ve found over the years is that most of the times I love the movies that the critics hate. Not sure what that really means though.

I guess it’s not really that important at all though. What’s really important is me knowing what I like in a movie. My interests are so varied though, I’ve seen so many movies, I’m not sure I could really tell you what I like. There was a time in my …read more

Jeff Gordon Crash at Watkins Glen

Jeff Gordon Crash at Watkins Glen

My father-in-law was sharing with me about the crash that Jeff Gordon was in this past weekend during the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen. The crash was pretty horrific because it’s the same kind of impact that took Dale Earnhardt from race fans at Daytona.

Sam Hornish junior had lost control of his car and then caused a chain reaction of events that sent Jeff Gordon’s 24 car directly into the wall at what appeared to be a straight, perpendicular hit to the wall. It wasn’t a glancing blow.
It’s good to see that both drivers are okay other than being a …read more
