The Turtleman – Noodling for Snappers

My wife just shared this video with me. I grew up in Kentucky and love my home state. There are some very eccentric country folk living in the Bluegrass state though.
Now noodling, the sport of catching catfish by sticking your hand and arm into a hole and letting them bite it, is one thing. But noodling for snapping turtles is something completely different. I’ve been fishing and seen a snapping turtle break a broom stick like a twig. You can believe these suckers he’s catching would take a chunk out of whatever they wanted that they could reach.

Perhaps we should just shorten it to U2be. What do you think? Not sure why I hadn’t heard of this concert happening before now, but you can watch U2 perform live on YouTube tonight from their Rose Bowl concert.
I went and saw the U2 in 3D concert at my local IMAX theater last year (or was it two years ago?) and it was amazing. My first thought of watching a concert in a theater wasn’t too high of an expectation, but it turned out to be a really great experience.
I’m guessing watching a concert live on YouTube might be similar. …read more

I’m not sure what it is about watching other people hurt themselves, but sometimes it can be funny right? Other times you watch something that makes your stomach queasy and you have to turn away.
You’ll find both kinds of videos on the Break.com website. Some will make you bust a gut with laughter while others will make you feel like your guts are coming up with what you just watched.
The Break.com site has more than just videos though, you can also find humorous photos as well as games and other stuff, but I usually spend most of my …read more

I’m not even a big hockey fan and don’t follow the sport, but this looks like a pretty amazing shot to me for sure. He picks up the puck and twirls it between his legs before launching it into the net as far as I can tell.
Oliver Wahlstrom shot the goals as part of a shoot-out goal. For all of you hockey fans out there. Tell me more about this shot. What do you think? Does the kid of serious talent or what?

At dinner tonight my wife and son were super excited to tell me about a video they watched today that had my son laughing so hard he was crying. My wife thought he was faking, but he was literally ROFL.
The video my wife originally posted on her Facebook was a remake of the video above that used Michael Jackson’s "Billie Jean" music instead. I like this one though, although there was a clip of a baby doing a little MJ dance move and moon walking.

Here’s an interesting video I just found that shows some skateboarders playing a game of real world Tetris on a city street. They’ve got the Tetris shapes made out of glowing tubes that they’re carrying on their heads and bodies.

An Amazing Amateur Michael Jackson Medley

This could be the best arrangement of a medley of Michael Jackson songs I’ve ever heard. Sam Tsui and Kurt Schneider have partnered to produce both a fantastic arrangement of many of Michael’s greatest hits as well as a very creative video to showcase the vocal talents of Sam Tsui.
The special dedication to Michael Jackson on the MTV Video Music Awards last night was a nice dance highlight, but I think this arrangement is better than last night. Now, we should just get my favorite acapella group, Straight No Chaser to grab this arrangement from Sam and Kurt and put …read more

The other night I was watching TV and saw one of my favorite commercials from the Super Bowl. This morning I saw a link for a story about the world’s most expensive commercial. Are these commercials worth the costs?
The original story talked about a Honda commercial that I don’t remember ever even seeing on TV, and I love Honda cars. The most expensive commercials listed on this website are really entertaining, but are they worth it?
Let us know what your favorite commercial is and why. Did the commercial make you purchase something that was being advertised? After all, that’s …read more
Musical Birds On A Wire

Here’s an interesting video I just uncovered on the Vimeo website. Jarbas Agnelli, the creator, saw a picture shared in his local newspaper of a bunch of birds sitting on telephone wires. He thought of a musical staff and the birds represented each note. He then decided to determine exactly what song the birds were arranging on those wires.

I love the creativity behind this video. Looking at something we’ve all seen before and haven’t thought much about, but he saw it differently. Perhaps more importantly, did something with the idea he saw …read more
