Free Deployment Tools for Windows Vista has been Released

Microsoft has just released free different versions of their deployment tools namely: Microsoft® Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) 2007, the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT) 5.0, Windows Vista Hardware Assessment 1.0, the Volume Activation Management Tool, the Key Management Service for Windows Server® 2003 and Virtual PC 2007.

Giving out free version of these deployment tools should boost Microsoft’s sales as these tools are meant to help customers migrate from their existing system. The free tools are meant to cover assessment, planning, testing and deployment.

Releasing the deployment tools this early is a good strategy of Microsoft to answer and clear doubts by customers on the amount of effort required in transferring to Windows Vista.
