Large Vendors are Taking on the Responsibility of Extending Windows XP

Since Microsoft is stopping all support to Windows XP starting June 30 of 2008, large vendors have taken it upon themselves to support Windows XP and offering it to business customers until January 31, 2009.

Dell and Lenovo have both signified their intent to offer downgrade discs to Windows XP while HP would continue to offer Windows XP to business customers beyond June 30.

Steve Ballmer on the other hand says that they might extend Windows XP if customers asked for it, though he said they have received no such request.

I am not sure if the customers Steve is referring to are their largest accounts. The masses has surely asked for the extension.
