Steve Ballmer himself Confirms that Windows 7 is still Vista in its Core

I made a Sharp Analysis of the Windows 7 name and in an excerpt:
Windows Vista was hyped to uncontrollable proportions by Microsoft (WOW Factor) and when it came out blazing, the heat quickly went ice cold. This only tells me that Microsoft isn’t done with Windows Vista and most probably a lot of the features they wanted in Vista did not materialize and Windows 7 is an offspring of Vista. If that is the case why not name Windows 7 as Windows Vista Revolution?
Just a few days into the official announcement of Windows 7; Steve Ballmer has now officially announced that Windows 7 is using the code base of Windows Vista and that the next version is actually “Vista, a lot better saga”.
It is clear that Microsoft is not happy with the install base of Windows Vista, now reported at 180 million licenses, especially when XP is running on 800 million computers. Their new marketing campaign may not be enough to change the perception of Windows Vista and as such; releasing a major (called by Microsoft) Windows while using the Vista code base is the next logical step.
With this strategy, I think enterprises who have not yet moved into Vista may finally decide to wait for Windows 7 unless Microsoft offer some incentives on pricing upgrades from Vista to 7.
