The heat of the Windows Vista has been put aside and now analysts are making aggresive forecasts in the revenue growth of Microsoft anchored on their latest operating system.

Steve Ballmer says that forecasts should take into consideration the hardware sales which is independent of Windows Vista. He points out that the box would be the driving force to the growth and sales of their operating system and not the other way around.

Another point made by Steve Ballmer focus on their latest Windows Genuine Advantage authentication which expects to lower the piracy rate especially in asian regions. He says that piracy is heavily weighted on the consumer market and placing these security systems might just increase their sales a bit; though large difference is not expected.
