Cataclysm could make some quests feel odd

A while back I mentioned that I was was going to wait for the Cataclysm expansion to make my Shaman alt so that I could be a Goblin. Well I tried waiting for a while but a really big itch to play one combined with an opportunity to play as Alliance on another server with some old friends prompted me to make a Draenei Shaman in that other server. I guess I’ll just have to settle for another class like a Priest or something for that Goblin I want to have. Anyway, it’s while leveling up that Draenei Shaman that I encountered the famous Alliance quest chain “The Missing Diplomat” and I realized that it did feel quite odd to be doing that quest since it’s outdated, made for before Wrath of the Lich King came out. Everyone... [Read more]

Lead Encounter Designer Daelo recently got on the forums to make an announcement about Icecrown Citadel’s Raid Access Progression. If you’ve been following raids in the past, you would know that the concept of gating raid content is not new at all. For some raids, Blizzard doesn’t want players to have access to everything right from the start. We saw this done in Sunwell where players could gain access to further bosses only after a while when Blizzard unlocked them. We also saw this in Trial of the Crusader where new bosses were unlocked week after week. icecrown citadel The devs plan on doing the same kind of thing for Icecrown. There are four sections of the Icecrown raid: The Lower Spire, Plagueworks, Crimson Hall, and... [Read more]

The other day, I was explaining to some friends in the game that the current dungeon daily quests will be replaced by the random dungeon feature of the new Dungeon Finder LFG tool coming out in patch 3.3. One of them reacted with something like this, “Oh no I have to do PuG’s now?” I think this shows that a lot of people equate anything that has something to do with LFG with PuG’s. While it’s true that this tool will make PuG’s easier to do with the cross-realm feature and the rewards for using the Dungeon Finder, it’s not an absolute necessity. You can totally use the Dungeon Finder and even do the random heroics with a fully pre-made group. violet hold Of course, as I was saying earlier the Dungeon... [Read more]
Mr. T and the Mohawk Grenade

The World of Warcraft Community was greeted by a pretty interesting and fun surprise earlier. Mr. T is back with another one of his WoW advertisements featuring the Night Elf Mohawk, something he wanted to play in WoW in his old advertisement but couldn’t because there’s no such thing. His new advertisement is awesome because of the cooperation it has with the actual game. Not only did he manage to get the Night Elf Mohawk in the game (at least temporarily) but he also managed to get his new invention, the Mohawk Grenade, in the game as well. If you’ve been playing the past few hours, you’ve likely seen yourself or others get a Night Elf Mohawk mask like face. That’s the work of the Mohawk Grenade. To get some... [Read more]

Ever since the new LFG system (which Blizzard recently named the Dungeon Finder) was announced and especially ever since the details of said feature was released, it has become one of if not the most anticipated feature of the upcoming patch 3.3. It’s going to make group formation for dungeon runs easier with the cross server feature and it’s also going to give more incentive for players to run PuG’s. Of course there’s the exciting random dungeon feature that will reward players for using it. But as much as the Dungeon Finder is going to help level 80 players in patch 3.3, it should also help leveling players run the lower level dungeons. It’s become a lot harder to run lower level dungeons especially if you want... [Read more]
