Now that Brewfest 2008 has started, the focus of the whole event for level 70 players is the boss you can fight in the Blackrock Depths dungeon. Coren Direbrew is a level 73 elite boss summoned as a daily quest during the Brewfest starting this year who drops some epic loots. In this sense he is very much similar to the Headless Horseman from the Hallow’s Eve holiday event. For more info about this Brewfest boss you can click here or you can also watch the video below.
I have yet to try this boss out but i hope to give him ago soon. Looks like he can drop some nice pieces of loot also. The mount which you can get from this is also very cool.
The loot you get from this boss (besides the mounts) is a carbon copy of the trinkets you get in Kara with new names. While this is a bummer, the good news is that the cooldowns are different. So now you can have 2 of the same unique trinket with seperate cooldowns. VERY COOL. Lets hope Blizz doesnt pick up on this or doesnt care enough to change it. ALSO, the boss is a joke, you could 3 man with at least Tier 4 toons or better(DPS, HEALS, and TANK). Adds are a pain though without 2 more DPS. Kodo mounts are sweet. Kinda pisses me off that last year I had to do the dailies for 2 weeks to get 500 tickets for my Ram mount and now its only a drop.
Yeah it’s a bit sucky that this guy drops trinkets similar to the badge ones like essence of the martyr or icon of silver crescent but it is a good this they don’t shar a cooldown. In the same way, I was a bit pissed when I found out that the holiday boss in slave pens drops items similar to the ones you can get in kara or badges.
Ah thats good information anyway as i hadn’t seen many of the items. It would be great to get the Kodo mount but i hear the drop rate on it isn’t very good so might take a good while to find it. The attack power item might be good for my rogue as i only recently got him to 70 and his trickets arn’t very good at the moment.
