The past few days, it seems like Blizzard has been working on hyperdrive to release more information to the community about various subjects concerning the upcoming patch 3.2. Patch 3.2 has 4 major highlights, the new Battleground Ilse of conquest, the new Argent Tournament content, the Crusader’s Coliseum and the Season Six of the Arena Tournament. Since the first two have already been touched on, it’s now time to talk about the details released about the Crusader’s Coliseum.

As you know, there’s a Coliseum going up in the Argent Tournament grounds which we even helped build by doing those daily quests for stone blocks and lumber for those two goblins. Speaking of those two goblins, I wonder if the Argent Crusade will ever find out where all that lumber and stone came from. Anyway, this Coliseum will be a dungeon in patch 3.2 and it will have both a 5 man and a raid version. The fight is supposed to be like a more epic Ring of Blood type encounter.

According to CM Bornakk, the 5 man version will have three encounters that will each award Champion’s Seals when defeated. What he doesn’t say is if this will act like a regular 5 man dungeon that will have a regular and heroic version, with the heroic mode giving out emblems of heroism. Perhaps since they said it was a dungeon, it’s already understood.

Also according to Bornakk, both 10 and 25 man versions will have 5 encounters with one being unlocked one week at a time from the time patch 3.2 comes out. The raid versions of the Coliseum will have four modes which add to the difficulty of the fights. By this he means that aside from the regular 10 and 25 man versions, there will also be a heroic 10 man and a heroic 25 man version. I guess this is to element of a “hard mode” into the fights just like in Ulduar. The heroic versions will see a new feature called the Crusader’s Tribute. Basically the Tribute system will out a limit to the number of attempts players have for doing the Coliseum each week. When the final boss is defeated, the system will give additional rewards depending on how many attempts are left in the run.

Also the Coliseum will award a new tier of weapons and armor with Alliance and Horde having their own themes. This would be a first in the whole history of the game so it’s exciting. but it’s also a bit disheartening to hear that a whole new tier of gear is going to come from a raid dungeon with just 5 boss fights. That’s really a downer especially after seeing Ulduar.
