Demon Hunter The Next Hero Class?

With World of Warcraft’s first hero class under development for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, there are many speculations on the possibilities of the next hero class that will make it to the game. The Demon Hunter seems to be one of the most popular choices for the next hero class. Here’s what CM Bornakk has to say.
We have announced and are developing the first (and currently only) Hero Class, the Deathknight. Because of this a lot of discussions have come up regarding future Hero Classes and the Demon Hunter is near the top of the “most often brought up” list due to its popularity and strong lore background.
Would a Demon Hunter be fun to play? Yes, but so would a number of other possibilities.
To be straight to the point: We have not announced any other Hero Classes at this point in time and we will have to wait and see what the future holds after the Deathknight makes its impact on Azeroth. source
The Death Knight was chosen as the first hero class because it fits well with the Wrath of the Lich King theme but also because it was a popular figure in Warcraft lore. The Demon Hunter is definitley another one making it a nice choice for the next hero class. In terms of addressing a need however, the Demon Hunter would only seem to add to the several dps classes already in the game. The Death Knight will fill the need for more tanks. From a needs point of view I think it’s better for the next hero class to be a healer. Of course I won’t complain if the Demon hunter eventually makes it. We’ll just have to see how this pans out when the right time comes.

Naw, their gonna make the next hero class a good one of some sort. Itd be to goth-ish to have to dark hero classes without a good one

Inquisitor IMO, I agree that they need to add another healing class as the next hero class since DK cannot do that. Inquisitor could be an interesting class that would have a lot of HoTs while being able to deal insane amounts of holy damage.
since the DK is already a dps/tank hybrid it really would be nice to have a healer/dps hybrid. The challenge would be how to make it different from the other healer classes out there.
Perhaps a demon hunter COULD be a healing class. Demonic Healing is still healing, and blizzard always was clever with naming things without stupidity.
Except that the demon hunter has been widely known to be a dps type. Trying to make it a healer would be pushing the lore too much.

and its conna have 2 new hero classes.
high prist (witch requires lvl 60 prist) and archdruid (level 60 druid)
but it wount ne coming out 4 another few years or so.
I doubt Blizzard will set a level cap on a certain class (that’s what I hope because all my character are 60+ of every class, bar Priest and Druid).
I’ve been readin various forums and most want a healing class. There are 4 tank classes and 4 healing classes, so I personally believe they will have an pure DPS class, most probably caster and not 100% confivinced it will be a hero class.
I would like to see some sort of ‘Goblin’ class from WIII for some fun. No chance of it happening though.
blizzard is going to make a new hero class called a bard. apparently you can kill enemies by playing music!

well they need to make a class with a lil bit of every class maybe try not to make it OP but like, where it can shapeshift, cast, melee,heal, have a pet, etc
You want a Demon hunter to be a Druid with a pet? Lets get serious here mate.
They could take demon forms and have a drain life with life tranfer to allies + shadow damage auras like warlocks metamorphosis demon form spell imolation aura
Demon Hunter will be a Melee with demon pet.
I like the idea of a Demon Hunter. But purely dps. With equal ranged and melee ability and a pet. Basically a hunter/warlock hybrid. And some sort of demonic energy to replace mana. Also, it would make sense to make it because Arthas defeated Illidan, so they could either bring him back or have like a Demon Hunter revolt against Arthas. Picking up the storyline from WoTLK and right in to the next xp. Just my opinion but I love the idea of a Demon Hunter.
They could have an energy like base that could be affected by int to allow for slightly more with high regen
ok i believe a healer class is most needed but a demon hunter sounds pretty sick, but the idea of them having demon pets is just too warlock-ish
I agree that a demon hunter would be pretty cool but the reason I doubt it is that it sounds too much like a Death Knight or a Warlock now in terms of class mechanics. It’s going to be hard to differentiate the class. It also needs a nice story to fit in like the way Death Knights fit in Wrath. I think TBC was a nice story to fit them in because of the Illidan story. If it’s for later, maybe something to do Malfurion like the Emerald Dream or something.

I would love a demon hunter, but I think the next hero class is going to be a Rune Master or something along those lines…there are several youtube vids about the next WoW expansion alpha…i’m not positive if theyre fake or not but all of them say that Rune Master is the next hero class.

Demon hunters are the best idea because we could use the talent system to make them hybrids with dps like dps buffs or dps with demon form for a feral Druid with demons thing they easily have soo much more possibilty than the other ideas and could come out in cataclysm
I think that a demon hunter would make a great hero class, think of the possibilities that blizz could do with class quests, i think a pure dps warlock/rogue combo would be best for them
Well,I personally think that it’s impossible to make the demon hunter a healing class since even death knights had healing abilities in WC3 but didn’t have any in WoW,so it’s quite a long shot
i think we have enough healers and we dont need another class that only wares leather.deamon hunter should not ware plate or mail but they should come out with something stronger then plate like call it Deamon armor or something like that and only deamon hunters can ware it
No lol.. Mail is fine, or maybe leather with a “Demon skin/armor” buff like locks
Hahaha… too much like a warlock… well thats what they said about DK in the begining aswell, Death-Coil and such… also its probatly the most renknown wacraft 3 heroes if you compare Illidan to Arthas.
Sorcerer…. its a possibility, Sorcerers call their power from their said low ammount of Dragon-Blood giving them dragon-like abilities…. Sounds something like a Mail-Using Mage with tanking possibilities, dragons have been quite a big subject in wotlk and will be in Catacysm (neltharion the earthwarder deathwing) the different speccs would be 3 different dragon elements,
Black (darkness)
Bronze (lightning)
Green (acid)
Demon Hunter will be a tank and DPS.
And shamans, paladins and rogues should be hero classes.
