More Traveling Improvements Coming in 3.2

Yesterday I wrote about the changes to the mount system that’s coming in patch 3.2. Basically the minimum level requirements for the regular ground mount, the epic ground mount and the regular flying mount will be lowered to 20, 40 and 60 respectively. All mounts will have their purchasing prices reduced and their summoning time cut to 1.5 seconds.

I did mention that it would be strange to get the first mount at 20 while the druid’s travel form is currently available at 30. Apparently more changes to player travel are coming and some of them address the awkwardness of the situation above or anything similar to it. I already assumed that the warlock/paladin mounts and the druid flight forms would follow the same changes. But the revelation is that the shaman ghost wolf form, the druid travel form and the hunter’s aspect of cheetah all will be available at level 16!

In another post, CM Zarhym once again became the bringer of good and cool news about even more traveling improvements that are coming in patch 3.2. We know about the zeppelin that will service Orgrimmar and Thunderbluff already since that was announced quite a while ago but if you didn’t know about that then now you know. The next set of improvements concerns the Outlands so if you have an alt that will hit that place when the patch comes out then these changes will be really awesome. Stormwind City and Orgrimmar will have portals that will teleport players to the Stair of Destiny in Hellfire Peninsula, which is the first thing players see when entering the Dark Portal. If that wasn’t cool enough then you’ll probably be pleased to know that the Stair of Destiny will automatically have a flight path to Shattrath City established! No more braving through mean mobs on the way to Shattrath City and this will complete the loop – easy access to the Stair of Destiny from Orgimmar and Stormwind and easy access to any capital city from the Stair of Destiny through the Shattrath portals.

I’m sure these changes will really help a lot of people decide to play those lower level alts again!
