New Improved Tutorial System in patch 3.3

While patch 3.3 has a lot of cool things coming for the level 80 folk (especially the raiders with the Icecrown Citadel raid being released), it also has a lot of small but nice changes for the low level players. This is obviously a move to make things easier for low level players to help them get to level 80 as fast and painless as possible. We’ve seen changes like rogues getting dual wield from level one, shamans getting a shield upon creation, and warlocks getting the imp without having to do the quest. While this is all great for experienced players who will make alts, this is especially helpful for those who are totally new to the game.

The game is still pulling in new players and Blizzard is doing more to help them get started. For us experienced players,a lot of the things new players have trouble with are probably taken for granted. But we’ve all been there before, we’ve all had to ask a lot of questions and/or find out the hard way about certain things. A new and improved tutorial system is coming out in patch 3.3 to provide better help to new players than we probably had back when we were starting out ourselves. According to the PTR notes, this improved tutorial is going have bigger popups with images to better direct players to important locations or elements of the use interface. More tips have also been added and existing tips will appear at more appropriate times.

This is a nice addition to the patch and hopefully new players will really benefit from this. Hopefully it will benefit them enough so that they don’t need to keep asking other people for help with something that they could have easily found out on their own.
