New WoTLK Feature: Achievements

As a guy who loves following the NBA, I’ve realized that stats are quite important in measuring the performance of players and teams. It’s also a way of showing the world in more concrete terms what the player or team has done.

For a game that already has many people crunch the numbers to optimize your performance while playing, the new Achievements feature coming out in the WoTLK expansion will give players a tool to keep track of more numbers. It’s a way for the player to see some of his “stats” as he/she accumulates achievements in the game.

The nice thing about this Achievements feature is that you can display it and show the world what you’ve done. Show the world what heroic things you’ve done in PvE or PvP or even that you got bored and explored the whole continent. Show the world the highest height you’ve fallen without dying or that you participated in every Holiday there is. I bet it’s also going to record your highest crit or the number of times you’ve died and things like that. the fact that it records things that you can really use and things that are just fun to keep track of makes it a really cool feature to have.
