Profession Titles in the future?

Just like achievements, titles are things that a lot of players go after because it shows other players what they have done in the game with that character. If you have the “Patron/Matron” title for examples, it means that you have completed everything necessary during Children’s Week to get that title. Titles are more in your face than achievements since it’s right there displayed on your character rather than hidden in some tab somewhere.

WoW EU Blue poster Wryxian has put forth an idea about Titles based on professions and the level of accomplishment that you’ve reached with your profession of choice.
Could there be Titles for reaching max level in a profession, you wonder? Maybe you’d like to help advertise your profession, maybe you’re just wanting to display your pride for completing a profession’s skill.
We regard Profession based Titles as a rather cool idea, but we’re not certain that it’d be best implemented for “just” achieving maximum skill — we might want there to be other requirements too. Either way, it is possible we may consider Titles like these in the future. source
I’d like to say first of all that it’s an interesting idea. If ever this gets implemented at all, I think it would be great to be able to advertise not only what your professions are but also the level of success you have had with it. I do agree thought that simply reaching max level to get that title would be quite a bummer. To make it more interesting maybe this idea could follow in the footsteps of existing achievements like Hail to the Chef and Sous Chef for the Cooking profession. Maybe only by completing achievements like these does the person gain a profession title.
One question arises though about these profession titles. As we know professions can be dropped for other professions if the player chooses to do so. If a player earns a title by completing something with say Engineering then later on drops it to take up Jewelcrafting, what happens to the Engineering title? It would seem odd to take the title away but it would also seem odd to keep it.
What are your thoughts about the idea of profession titles?
Titles are great and we should get them for professions based on a series of achievements. But beyond that, once we’ve hit our max level for a profession we should be able to learn a new one while retaining the old one. The cost of retaining the old profession? Membership dues! Say a 5000G one time cost to join a profession guild for the profession you’ve attained max level in. And of course the customary profession guild tabard to flaunt with your title!
Let’s go one further…We’ll need a “farmers” market to set up a kiosk to advertise and sell our goods/chants/mats. You would be able to rent a kiosk for a percentage of what you sell or a flat cost. We have the AH you say! True enough. But wouldn’t you like to have the opportunity to haggle for price with the vendor/seller? It would create a fun market feeling. The trade channel is a zoo of activity, imagine calming it down to a market environment.
