Happy 5th Anniversary, WoW!

How times flies so fast! I can’t believe that the game is 5 years old but it is. A few days ago, I found myself thinking that it felt like it was a wee bit early for patch 3.3 to be coming out soon. With all the news about Icecrown coming out, it has to be just around the corner. It only hit me recently that the year is almost coming to an end and that it is indeed time for these things to be coming out soon. Tempus fugit, as they say.
Last year we got an Achievement for logging …read more
Perky Pug and “Looking For Multitudes”

The other day, I was explaining to some friends in the game that the current dungeon daily quests will be replaced by the random dungeon feature of the new Dungeon Finder LFG tool coming out in patch 3.3. One of them reacted with something like this, “Oh no I have to do PuG’s now?” I think this shows that a lot of people equate anything that has something to do with LFG with PuG’s. While it’s true that this tool will make PuG’s easier to do with the cross-realm feature and the rewards for using the Dungeon Finder, it’s not …read more
Introducing Day of the Dead

Earlier this year, Blizzard spiced up an in game event that didn’t get much noticed before in Pirate’s Day. It was still a one day affair but at least it had a simple achievement everyone could get. Starting today November 1 and lasting until tomorrow November 2 is another but completely new in game event called Day of the Dead. Since it’s only lasting for two days, I hope you don’t miss it!
Day of the Dead is an event to honor the dead which made me think that this event was inspired by All Saints Day and All Souls Day …read more
Blizzard has problem with candy buckets

With Hallow’s End being celebration across Azeroth, you’re probably doing one of two things with your play time: In a group fighting the Headless Horseman or going around doing the things you need for the Achievement like Trick or Treating, eating candy and visiting the various candy buckets stationed throughout the inns in the various zones. If you’ve already done this last year, most likely you have some other alt that still needs these achievements.
Visiting the various candy buckets throughout the world can be a lot of hard work, especially if you aren’t a mage who can port around. What …read more
This Year’s Brewfest Extended

By now a lot of you probably already have everything you want from Brewfest since it’s been going on for quite a while now. But some of you probably don’t haven’t yet or still want more on other characters. The problem is that we’re running out of time. I never was much of an Achievement person so I’m not exactly working to do all that Ram Racing, Barrel Delivery and such just to get the stuff I want. Yet I still need the Mithril Pocketwatch for my mage, probably because I don’t get to fight Direbrew everyday. A friend …read more
Underwhelming WoW Pirates’ Day celebration

Today is Pirates’ Day in World of Warcraft, which is their way of celebrating International Talk Like A Pirate Day. It’s a one day affair just like the old Noblegarden before they extended it to a whole week this year. Considering it’s only a one day affair, it’s understandable if there’s little to do during the celebration. You wouldn’t want people who missed it to feel so bad. That being said, WoW’s Pirates’ Day celebration this year was very underwhelming.
I didn’t get to see last year’s Pirate Day affair, which was when they first put it in the game. For …read more

Arr! It not be the day of da Pirate just yet but there be no harm in talkin’ like one to set the mood. Pirates’ Day be tomorrow after all so it be like an early celebration! Yarr September 19 be Pirates’ Day and WoW be celebrating this great day with a special event in the game.
Ok I’m going to stop talking like a Pirate for now since it’s getting a bit weird. I’ll save that for tomorrow when I’m actually in the game. So I’m just here to tell everyone that it’s going to be Pirate Day tomorrow because …read more
Hotfix for Midsummer Fire Festival Coming

If you read my post yesterday about this year’s Midsummer Fire Festival, you would have seen that I’m not that interested in participating in this year’s festivities. I never really was that enticed to do so in the past and aside from Achievements, Blizzard didn’t do anything to convince me to participate this year.
To make things worse, players who wanted to participate were hampered by the bug that wouldn’t allow players who completed the quests in the past to do them again this year. This is a problem since you need to complete them all to get the achievements. Thankfully, …read more
Profession Titles in the future?
June 4, 2009 by Angelo Fernandez

Just like achievements, titles are things that a lot of players go after because it shows other players what they have done in the game with that character. If you have the “Patron/Matron” title for examples, it means that you have completed everything necessary during Children’s Week to get that title. Titles are more in your face than achievements since it’s right there displayed on your character rather than hidden in some tab somewhere.
WoW EU Blue poster Wryxian has put forth an idea about Titles based on professions and the level of accomplishment that you’ve reached with your profession of …read more
“Daily Chores” achievement changed

How’s everyone doing with their Children’s Week achievements? I’m doing quite nicely considering it’s still pretty early in the time allotted for this event but I’ll probably have a hard time doing the School For Hard Knocks achievement since I hate pvp. Today was the first time I entered a Battleground since the expansion came out. It’s still a relatively easy World Event to get achievements for though. In fact some people already have theirs done since I’ve seen a few guys running around with the Patron/Matron title. This wouldn’t have been possible if one of the achievements worked like …read more
