Reflection on Brewfest 2009 so far

After letting the Brewfest craze digest a bit, it’s time for me to talk about it. First of all, after a pretty underwhelming Pirates’ Day celebration this is definitely a happy sight. The fact that it’s a two week event instead of just a day means there’s more to do and more time to have fun.
Of course Brewfest isn’t a new thing in this game. I still remember talking about Brewfest around this time last year. I also seem to remember a time when Brewfest didn’t have the Coren Direbrew encounter all we had was the just the drunken fun. …read more
There should be an achievement for that!

I was just reading the forums and came across a post that talked about things that you’ve done in the game that made you want to say “there should be an achievement for that!”. I bet we’ve all had moments like that because there really are certain things that happen to us in the game that’s so cool or so hilarious that it should be documented.
It would be nice for example to have an achievement for dancing with every combination of class and race in a contested area. I haven’t done that personally but it would be interesting to see …read more

The Children’s Week craze is finally over and I have to say that I’m really glad that it is. We finally get a break from about two straight weeks of gunning for achievements for both Noblegarden and Children’s Week. Now we can get back to our “boring” every life doing whatever we do, not having to worry about getting a run through Utgarde Pinnacle with your orphan or doing battlegrounds like mad trying to do School For Hard Knocks.
I feel pretty good about myself for getting both the Noble and the Patron titles on my main character. I wanted the …read more

The time has come again for us to spend some quality time with Azeroth’s children, especially those who have been orphaned because of the wars and struggles. Children’s Week started today May 1 and will end on May 7. If it snuck up on you then you probably didn’t look at your WoW calendar. We’ve been doing this year after year for quite some time now but this year’s Children’s Week is a little bit special.
The most obvious is that it’s the first one since the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and the Achievements feature came out. This means …read more
Noblegarden coming really soon!

In case you’ve been so caught up with the coolness of the new stuff patch 3.1 has to offer that you already forgot, I just want to remind you that there’s something else that’s cool coming our way really soon. I’m talking about the new and improved Noblegarden world event that’s just hours away.
Noblegarden usually comes out on Easter Sunday itself and in the past only lasted one day. This year it got postponed to April 26 but it looks like it could be well worth the wait. The event will last a whole week, ending on May 3. This …read more
Ulduar And Achievements Dilemma

While the introduction of the 10 man and 25 man versions for every raid in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion has been quite a success, it has also created some problems the game hasn’t really seen before. While it was common for a guild raiding the T5 content back in the TBC days to go back and do the T4 raid dungeons, the problem now is quite different especially starting with the release of the Ulduar raid dungeon in patch 3.1.
The concern is all about achievements in Ulduar 10. The assumption is that a lot of guilds out …read more
