The idea of having a sort of dance duel is a pretty clever take on the feature that we’re still waiting for where we will be able to customize our dance moves. Like Battlegrounds and other aspects of PvP, teamwork and coordination is key making this joke really funny. One good thing about seeing this joke is that we see an interface for this sort of thing in the screen shots. This is a good sign that there’s at least some progress in the customized dance feature that’s coming. This gives us some hope that the feature will be available to us soon.

Pimp Your Mount

But then after a while I came across something stupid enough to pass as the April Fool’s joke. As of this writing, it’s still not in the US WoW site but it’s already in the WoW EU site. According to the joke, there’s a feature under development that would allow players to add things to their mounts to make them look and function better. For a fee, you’ll be able to pimp your mount with the “Pimp My Mount” feature. Click here to see the page and the whole joke.

If it seems like I’m not excited or laughing my ass off with this joke, it’s probably because I expected more. Maybe it’s because the past April Fool’s jokes were so hilarious but for some reason this one just doesn’t tickle my funny bone that much. Don’t get me wrong, it’s funny but for me it’s not funny enough.

With all the talk about additional mounts coming in the next patch, this joke is probably quite timely. The idea that you could jazz up that boring kodo to make it cooler looking to match the coolness of your friend’s mammoth is a nice thought though. In fact, this idea could be a nice real addition to the game as a toned down version. Maybe you can pay to change the color of your mount or add special markings and features so it will be a mount version of going to the WoW barber.
