Ah the world of PvP. For a lot of people there just isn’t anything better that that feeling you get after smashing some face and kicking some butt at the expense of the opposite faction. This is where the tension between Alliance and Horde is most seen in the game. But this is most seen in world PvP and in Battlegrounds. The Arena Tournament is a different brand of PvP and it’s really changed the game complete since it arrived. It’s turned PvP into something more competitive and isn’t just about the war between factions. Apparently it was also a …read more

The Wintergrasp regulars probably already know this but for the sake of the other people, it’s been announced that the new boss in the Vault of Archavon has been released finally. Koralon the Flame Watcher will join Archavon the Stone Watcher and Emalon the Storm Watcher in the Vault of Arcachavon for players to raid when their faction has control of Wintergrasp Fortress.
Koralon the Flame Watcher was one of the awaited features announced for patch 3.2 but he didn’t come out when the patch went live a few weeks ago. The release of Koralon instead coincided with the start of …read more

A lot of people would probably want to separate PvE and PvP as two separate worlds. But the sad reality is that PvP and PvE are both integral to World of Warcraft and cannot be separated. As a guy who doesn’t PvP all that much, I’m one of those guys who gets a bit ticked when something gets nerfed for PvP reasons and the spell has at least some use for PvE.. That’s the challenge in balancing not just among all the classes but for both PvP and PvE.
One of the changes is coming in the form of a hotfix …read more
Stealth detection items nerfed

The problem with having a game as complex as World of Warcraft is that certain things can be overlooked by the developers, abused and then next thing you know it’s taking a life of its own. Such was the famous case of down-ranking spells which was eliminated already. Another example I remember was when back in vanilla WoW players were actually wearing resistance gear in PvP settings to help against casters. Obviously this was something that was not intended.
A similar problem has addressed recently with the nerf to stealth detection items. As someone who used to do some arena tournament …read more
Some arena weapon requirements changed

I don’t participate in the Arena Tournament anymore and it’s been a really long time since I last joined a match. I know it’s not the best reason but the reason why I tried the tournament before was just to get some better gear to fill some holes I had for PvE. After all, PvP gear is decent for PvE until you can get better PvE gear.
Making season two gear available for honor back in the day just killed my desire to do any arena matches since I could just do battlegrounds for the gear I want. I really wanted …read more
Replenishment change for Arenas Hotfixed

One of the hardest, if not the hardest, tasks to do in World of Warcraft and any similar game is game balance. Not only do you have to balance between the many different classes and specs but also for PvE and PvP. This is probably why every patch, even if they make a change to balance something there seems to be another balancing problem that arises.
One of the newest changes made in the hope for more balance concerns the Replenishment effect in the Arena Tournament. Replenishment was changed through a hotfix so that it will only affect the player and …read more
