You’ve probably noticed the persistent reminder on the login screen about merging your World of Warcraft account with a Battle.net account for the past few weeks but if you haven’t really been reading, time is almost up. I assume that most of you have already done this to get your Mr. Chilly penguin pet that Blizzard gave out as a reward for going through the process but if you haven’t done this yet then you really should right now.
I would just like to remind everyone that Blizzard said that we have until November 11 before players will be required to …read more

if you haven’t noticed, Blizzard has been in the mood for releasing quite a bit of non-combat pets into World of Warcraft (or at least releasing news about it like the Perky Pug coming out in patch 3.3). We’ve seen the release of the Onyxia Whelp pet when patch 3.2.2 came out and then Mr. Chilly from the Battle.net conversion. If you logged in today and saw two new pets you haven’t seen before and wondering where they came from, that’s from the new Pet Store Blizzard just introduced!
The Blizzard Pet Store is a new way for players to get …read more
Race Change Service Now Available

When the Faction Change service was announced a little way back, Blizzard announced that they were also going to make a race change service available soon after. Well that soon has finally arrived as Blizzard announced the availability of their Race Change service.
It actually didn’t take much thinking that a race change service would make sense especially after Blizzard allowed faction switching. Switching factions is more of a leap than switching races within the same faction. In a way race switching was possible even before but it involved switching factions then paying for another one later on when the service …read more
Blizz Aware of XP-Off BG “problem”

Blizzard never really endorsed the practice of twinking characters in the past but was something they just tolerated. For those who don’t know, twinking is the practice of playing a really beefed up low level character for PvP at lower levels of the game with the best gear and enchants you could have. The new feature from patch 3.2 that allows one to level up through BG’s has become a problem for twinks though.
Blizzard didn’t forget about twinks when they released the feature to gain experience from Battlrgrounds, They did provide a feature that allowed players to turn off their …read more

We’ve seen the announcement of the Cataclysm expansion during Blizzcon and we now know that instead of getting a new continent like Northrend, we’ve returning to Azeroth to see not only new playable areas like Uldum but also revamped old world areas. The Cataclysm is going to see a lot of changes to the old world like The Barrens getting divided into two zones and based on the trailer it’s going to a river of lava running right across them. Basically a lot of Azeroth is supposed to have blown up or at least changed a lot.
So you might be …read more

Failoc-alypse is quite amusing!

Blizzard has always been known for its sense of humor when it comes to their games. It’s for this reason that the annual April Fools joke is always something fans anticipate. We’ve seen a lot of this sense of humor especially in the myriad of pop culture references inserted in World of Warcraft.
This is why its very much in the spirit of what Blizzard does that they came up with a very simple old school type game called Failoc-alypse. It’s a simple side scroller hack and slash game that’s very amusing. Since Blizcon is a hot topic right now, it’s …read more
Date set to enforce new Addon Dev Policy
April 15, 2009 by Angelo Fernandez

Last month Blizzard released a new addon development policy to prevent the use of addons that charge money for players to use them. In fact the new policy also discourages the use of addons that ask for donations and if so must only be in a website and not in the game itself. With the release of patch 3.1 where all our addons went poof and are slowly rebuilding and getting updated versions, this new policy has probably taken some effect already with some addons not available for use any longer.
Blizzard has already set a date for the enforcement of …read more
Dance Battle System April Fool’s Joke

Yesterday I was quite disappointed with the “Pimp My Mount” April Fool’s joke that Blizzard released. I just thought they could have done a bit better. Fortunately and to my surprise, that was actually just the WoW EU joke and the WoW US one was different. I checked the WoW US site and started laughing my ass off for several minutes when I saw the Dance Battle System joke. It really made up for the disappointment I had yesterday.
The idea of having a sort of dance duel is a pretty clever take on the feature that we’re still waiting for …read more
“Pimp My Mount” – The April Fool’s Joke ‘09

It was about two weeks ago when I realized that April was coming and for the Worldof Warcraft community that meant anticipation their April Fool’s joke. I was waiting for it as I was seeing others celebrate the day while Blizzard stood still. I saw Youtube play their videos upside down and Wowhead look like the WoW Armory but still nothing from WoW. I was beginning to think that their non-participation was their joke.
But then after a while I came across something stupid enough to pass as the April Fool’s joke. As of this writing, it’s still not in the …read more
