On tanks and other specs and Quel’delar

As I posted yesterday, the patch 3.3 PTR revealed a bunch of cool stuff yesterday including the four Quel’delar blades plus the three maces that you can get by completing the Quel’delar quest chain. Looking at all seven weapons you’ll realize that not all specs are accommodated but all classes can use at least one of them. If you happen to be one of the unlucky specs then too bad for you. The most glaring thing isn’t that all specs aren’t accommodated. I mean sure Elemental Shamans and Boomkin Druids don’t have a weapon that perfectly fits their spec but …read more
Blizzard has problem with candy buckets

With Hallow’s End being celebration across Azeroth, you’re probably doing one of two things with your play time: In a group fighting the Headless Horseman or going around doing the things you need for the Achievement like Trick or Treating, eating candy and visiting the various candy buckets stationed throughout the inns in the various zones. If you’ve already done this last year, most likely you have some other alt that still needs these achievements.
Visiting the various candy buckets throughout the world can be a lot of hard work, especially if you aren’t a mage who can port around. What …read more
This Year’s Brewfest Extended

By now a lot of you probably already have everything you want from Brewfest since it’s been going on for quite a while now. But some of you probably don’t haven’t yet or still want more on other characters. The problem is that we’re running out of time. I never was much of an Achievement person so I’m not exactly working to do all that Ram Racing, Barrel Delivery and such just to get the stuff I want. Yet I still need the Mithril Pocketwatch for my mage, probably because I don’t get to fight Direbrew everyday. A friend …read more
Onyxia Reset Timer Fixed

When patch 3.2.2 came out, our guild couldn’t do much because of some of the lag that usually comes with the release of a patch. But eventually our server stabilized enough for our guild master to decide to take a stab at the new Onyxia. I wasn’t able to join them but one of my friends who was in there with them announced with shock that it was one a one day reset timer.
I had my doubts about that and thought it was a bug. I mean the shortest raid reset in the game was Zul’gurub and Ruins of Ahn’qiraj, …read more
No plans to extend Heirlooms to level 85

Ever since Heirloom items were introduced as a new feature for the current Wrath of the Lich King expansion, a lot of us probably have used them to help their alts. Heirloom items are pieces of gear that you can send to your alts which changes its stats according to the level of the character using it. It’s been said that Heirloom items have stats similar to a blue item of the same level. Most Heirloom items (all except the weapon ones you get from Wintergasp) also give more experience while leveling up and this effect stacks if you have …read more
Hotfix for Midsummer Fire Festival Coming
June 23, 2009 by Angelo Fernandez

If you read my post yesterday about this year’s Midsummer Fire Festival, you would have seen that I’m not that interested in participating in this year’s festivities. I never really was that enticed to do so in the past and aside from Achievements, Blizzard didn’t do anything to convince me to participate this year.
To make things worse, players who wanted to participate were hampered by the bug that wouldn’t allow players who completed the quests in the past to do them again this year. This is a problem since you need to complete them all to get the achievements. Thankfully, …read more

The past few days, it seems like Blizzard has been working on hyperdrive to release more information to the community about various subjects concerning the upcoming patch 3.2. Patch 3.2 has 4 major highlights, the new Battleground Ilse of conquest, the new Argent Tournament content, the Crusader’s Coliseum and the Season Six of the Arena Tournament. Since the first two have already been touched on, it’s now time to talk about the details released about the Crusader’s Coliseum.
As you know, there’s a Coliseum going up in the Argent Tournament grounds which we even helped build by doing those daily quests …read more
Free Respecs coming in Patch 3.1.1

One week after patch 3.1 was released and Blizzard is still trying to fix a bunch of bugs. That is the purpose of Patch 3.1.1, the minor patch CM Eyonix was talking about in his post earlier. The long list list of fixes that CM Bornakk has come up with, the extended duration of today’s scheduled maintenance and Eyonix’s timely posting about patch 3.1.1 all hint towards today being patch day once again. At least it’s just a minor patch. Eyonix’s post gives some good news for those people who want to tweak their talents a bit.
In the next upcoming …read more
Ulduar And Achievements Dilemma

While the introduction of the 10 man and 25 man versions for every raid in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion has been quite a success, it has also created some problems the game hasn’t really seen before. While it was common for a guild raiding the T5 content back in the TBC days to go back and do the T4 raid dungeons, the problem now is quite different especially starting with the release of the Ulduar raid dungeon in patch 3.1.
The concern is all about achievements in Ulduar 10. The assumption is that a lot of guilds out …read more
Patch 3.1 Will Bring Changes To Flasks
March 25, 2009 by Angelo Fernandez
CM Bornakk made a sort of public service announcement in one of his posts that it’s probably best for everyone to stop stockpiling flasks at least until patch 3.1 comes out. This is because patch 3.1 will have several changes concerning flasks, the most striking of which is the lowering of their duration.
In patch 3.1, flask effects will be lowered from 2 hours to 1 hours. To balance this, flask recipes will be changed to make 2 instead of 1 adding up to essentially the same thing. This is actually a great change if you think about it since …read more
