Blue poster Crygil became the bearer of bad news to the mage community as he posted the announcement of the hotfix to change a Hot Streak mechanic concerning Living Bomb. Hot Streak will only proc off non periodic damage
and only off Fireball, Fire Blast, Scorch, Living Bomb, or Frostfire Bolt.
Blizzard hit two birds with one stone here, the first being solving the bug concerning the periodic damage from Frostfire Bolt and Fireball being counted towards breaking the Hot Streak. As you know you need two consecutive crits from the spells above to trigeer it. The second is that since …read more
Measured Battlegrounds Being Worked On

There’s some talk right now in the forums about a system for Measured Battlegrounds because Blue poster Crygil admitted it’s something the development team is working on. As usual they don’t have a time table for this feature, which means that it would probably be a while before we can see it.
What is Measured Battlegrounds? I’m actually not sure exactly what it is but I seem to have an idea based on the discussion going on in the forums.I guess the vagueness also comes from the fact that we don’t have a system in place to define it. This is …read more

There’s a post in the forums today which Blue poster Crygil replied to about phasing and the old world of Vanilla WoW. What the poster was suggesting didn’t actually look like the use of phasing technology but more like a revamp of a lot of the content that players experience as you level up in an attempt to attract more players and keeping up with the MMO competition. His post does bring up an interesting point though… phasing technology would make the old world look more relevant in today’s WoW experience.
I’m not talking about changing the old world content just …read more

Just yesterday Blizzard poster Crygil posted a series of questions for the World of Warcraft community to answer. It’s an interesting way to get some feedback about what people think of the game straight from the people who play it. It’s become quite popular already with pages and pages of responses. The question posted is as follows:
It’s commonly held that there are three or four main segments of the game: Ranged/Melee DPS, Tanking and Healing. What does that mean to you and what defines each role in your mind? If you had to break down each class, and section it …read more
Inspired To Make WoW Haikus

if you’ve been reading the forums, you probably saw that blue poster Crygil was very much in the mood for replying haiku style. The only problem was that his were written the “wrong” way since he used a 5-8-5 meter instead of the traditional 5-7-5. Still all these haikus inspired me to make a few of my own about WoW. I say they’re not bad considering i don’t have much training in making this stuff and it only took me an hour to compose all of them. Tell me what you think!
