Info on Icecrown Raid Access Progression

Lead Encounter Designer Daelo recently got on the forums to make an announcement about Icecrown Citadel’s Raid Access Progression. If you’ve been following raids in the past, you would know that the concept of gating raid content is not new at all. For some raids, Blizzard doesn’t want players to have access to everything right from the start. We saw this done in Sunwell where players could gain access to further bosses only after a while when Blizzard unlocked them. We also saw this in Trial of the Crusader where new bosses were unlocked week after week.

Developers announce Chill of the Throne

Lead Encounter Designer Daelo announced something earlier involving the Icecrown Citadel coming out in patch 3.3 that is causing a lot of debate and whining especially within the tank community. The developers are implementing a spell in the Icecrown Citadel raid dungeon called Chill of the Throne which will affect every creature inside the raid. Chill of the Throne will allow these creatures to ignore 20% of it’s melee target’s dodge chance. So if you normally have 30% chance to dodge, you’ll only have 10% inside the Icecrown Citadel.

Icecrown Citadel testing in PTR Today!

If you’ve seen the preview Blizzard recently put out for the Icecrown Citadel raid dungeon that’s coming out in patch 3.3, you probably were pretty impressed at how epic and interesting raiding that place is going to be. If you’re one of those guys who belongs to a guild ready to take it on when it comes out then you might want to try it out when testing begins in the PTR today.

Paladin Holy Wrath spell Hotfixed

Another hotfix has been applied to the game, this time to the paladin spell Holy Wrath which does AoE holy damage and provides a stun if the targets are Undead or Demon. The hotfix will apply diminishing returns to the stun effect so that Undead or Demon targets cannot be permanently stunned. It’s a pretty curious change on its own since it doesn’t really provide a drastic effect on first glance.
