Some of them are short enough to just wait through but others are way too long, especially for players who want to maximize their time running one dungeon after another through this new Dungeon Finder. The fact of the matter is that these things might be cool the first few times you see it but they get really old especially if you’ve seen it hundreds of times.

Fortunately there’s a way to get the short version of the introductions in Trial of the Champion as long as you’ve finished the dungeon once. My friends call it the “cut to the chase” feature, which is very welcome because those introductions are really long. Another dungeon that needs this is Culling of Stratholme, which has a pretty lengthy start with Arthas talking to Uther outside Stratholme. Unfortunately, a “cut to the chase” feature is not possible for this CoS. According to CM Eyonix, as much as they want to add a feature to bypass this there are technical restrictions that currently won’t allow this to happen. This should be a lesson to the developers for the future though. They should allow “cut to the chase” features from the start to all future dungeons so that players won’t need to wait after already having completed the dungeon before.

Well this faction restriction for PvP servers has been removed, as announced by CM Eyonix. As you might recall, Blizzard already announced that they are working on a service that will allow players to switch their characters to the opposite faction for a fee. It’s probably going to take a while since this isn’t just an aesthetic change, since things like reputation will have to be worked out somehow. In preparation for this service, Blizzard has removed the faction restriction so that all PvP servers will be just like Normal servers in that they have create characters from both factions.
Hope you PvP server people enjoy finally being able to make a character from the opposite faction!

A while back the PTR gave us a hint of a new feature that would allow players to extend the lock out periods of their dungeon and raid runs. It’s definitely a useful feature since players won’t need to worry about the dungeon lockout timers resetting even if you don’t really want to. CM Eyonix came out in the forums today to officially announce this new feature to the community as well as give more details about this feature.

kologarm raid extension

According to Eyonix, players will be able to extend their lock out period for an additional amount of time equal to the original duration of the lock. This means that players will get an additional 24 hours for heroic 5 mans and 7 days for raids like Naxxramas or Ulduar. Also players will be able to extend their lock out period more than once (since he didn’t say a maximum, I’m guessing that this means there’s no limit). Eyonix also answered another issue players were wondering about. The option to extend the lockout is the player’s decision and not the party/raid leader. This means that raid leaders won’t be able to extend the lockout of your run even if you don’t want to. So I wasn’t 100% correct when I predicted that maybe players would normally have their lockout reset as normal then have to be saved all over again if they join an extended run. Close but since players have the decision to extend it themselves I was still wrong.

In the next upcoming minor content patch, we will be wiping all talents which should fix a majority of talent issues that players have been experiencing. This talent wipe will not affect glyphs, but when reapplying your talent points, please be careful to match them up to the glyphs that you currently have placed. source

We’re having yet another free respec so we should all take advantage of this opportunity. Maybe there’s a certain talent you’re not happy with after a week of playing. This is the time to make the adjustments. it’s very rare we get this many free respecs in this amount of time, especially for druids who seem to have gotten one more than other classes.

As a resto druid who is also a scribe, I was looking forward to switching out my Glyph of Regrowth for the Nourish one. Of course I was hoping to learn it myself but I would have been just as happy to find it in the Auction House and buy it. To make a long story short, I’ve done neither of them and that makes me a sad panda… err Tree.

glyph interface

There’s some good news for those people who’ve been searching high and low for the new glyphs, according to CM Eyonix.

Friends of mine who are buying the mastery books are making a great deal of profit from the glyphs they are selling. Eventually, the price for the books will go down. It should also be noted for those who aren’t aware, last night we applied a hotfix that increased the drop rate for the books, so that should help as well. source

This won’t change how we get them and as a scribe I still don’t like it. But at least this change will help us get it. The faster we can get the glyphs learned, the faster we can make them available to the market to help everyone.

In my case, I still haven’t tried Strand of the Ancients so I can’t comment on that. Making my judgment based on the other BG’s, I’d have to say that Alterac Valley is my favorite. Ever since Blizzard changed AV in TBC so that the matches reward fast matches, it’s been quite a blast to play. It gives you that feeling of large scale battle and it also incorporates some PvE into that PvP, which I like a lot. Eye of the Storm would probably be my next favorite since it’s like Arathi Basin with a twist of Warsong Gulch without being Warsong Gulch. the thing I hate about WSG is that it could go really fast or really slow depending on how you play. I hate that uncertainty. EoTS and Arathi Basin works on a resource gathering system and you know that once you reach a certain amount the game is over. With that, you know that the game won’t drag on to insane durations like WSG could.

What about you? What’s your favorite BG? Cast your vote in CM Eyonix’s poll. It’s going to end on April 14 so there’s still some time!
