Profession based racials more fun in Xpac?

If you’ve seen the racial abilities for the Goblins and the Worgen for the Cataclysm expansion, you’ll see that both races have one that has something to do with professions. Profession racials aren’t new at all since a lot of other races have them like the Herbalism one of Taurens or the Engineering one of Gnomes. But you’ll notice that the Alchemy racial of Goblins and the Skinning one of the Worgen aren’t just your regular +X to a certain profession skill. Worgens also get a faster skinning speed bonus for example.
While the racial abilities of both Worgen and Goblins …read more

Holding off for Cataclysm

Ever since I started enjoying healing back in The Burning Crusade expansion, I’ve taken quite a bit of interest in all of the healing classes. I started with a Holy Paladin back then and now have a Resto Druid as a main. Right now I’m leveling the paladin with the intent to stay Holy and be another healer but it seems like I won’t stop there. As I think about my characters and the plans I have for them, it hit me that in an ideal situation I’d like to have a Restoration Shaman and a Holy Priest as well.

Last weekend’s Blizzcon ‘09 saw the announcement of the Cataclysm expansion and instead of a new class like Wrath of the Lich King’s Death Knight, Blizzard decided to go the way of The Burning Crusade to release a pair of new playable races. It’s been rumored for a while now that the Goblin and Worgen races would be new races for the expansion because of the Goblin and Worgen Halloween masks that were discovered from data mining game files. At the time it seemed like strange choices for new races but turns out that they were indeed the new races …read more

So it’s true. What we’ve been hearing the past few weeks are true. I’m not sure about all the details yet but at least most of the stuff we’ve been hearing from MMO Champion turned out to be true. The next expansion will indeed be called Catclysm and it was already announced at the ongoing Blizzcon.
The level cap will be pushed up to just level 85. Instead of a new continent, Blizzard will just be adding to and changing Azeroth (zones like the Barrens and Badlands will be changed). There will be new zones that will opened up for the …read more

A few days ago there was this whole buzz about the 4 new Halloween mask faces that were found in the PTR files and the whole thing became such a big deal because we might have found the 2 next playable races for possibly the next expansion, the Worgen and the Goblin. Of course personally I think that Blizzard most likely is just adding something fresh to this year’s Halloween festivities by adding new faces to wear.
But it’s fun to speculate even if this is likely false. Let’s assume that this whole thing is true. Here’s what I came up …read more
PTR Masks point to new playable races?

There’s something going around now in the WoW community about something someone from Scrolls of Lore discovered about the patch 3.2 PTR files and it has the potential to be really big news. The Scrolls of Lore guy was just browsing around the game files and he saw four new Halloween mask faces (click here to see them) these were a male and female goblin and a male and female wolf like face (maybe worgen). Now as you know the faces you get in the Halloween masks are currently of playable races. So if you were to use that logic, …read more
