Lead Encounter Designer Daelo recently got on the forums to make an announcement about Icecrown Citadel’s Raid Access Progression. If you’ve been following raids in the past, you would know that the concept of gating raid content is not new at all. For some raids, Blizzard doesn’t want players to have access to everything right from the start. We saw this done in Sunwell where players could gain access to further bosses only after a while when Blizzard unlocked them. The Icecrown Citadel has always been a curious place for me and probably also for a lot of other people. Being the Lich King’s lair, I always tend to wonder not only what Blizzard has in store for us in terms of fight designs but also who and what we might find inside. With the recent release of patch 3.2 it’s now officially ok to talk about patch 3.3 and the Icecrown Citadel. Besides, there’s really something mind blowing that was released about the Citadel anyway. As you all know, the Icecrown Citadel is the lair of the Lich King and will be the venue for players to raid when patch 3.3 comes out. It was just this past week where I finally gave jousting in the Argent Tournament another chance and through my research I finally practiced a worthy technique and started getting pretty good at it. I finally worked my way up to the champion rank, defeated the black knight and started doing the daily group quest Threat From Above. As a result of this, I started doing the Battle Before The Citadel quest again too since a lot of groups tend to do that right after since it’s a LOT easier to do as a group.
