Patch 3.2.2 was already released this week but there’s a pretty nice change that snuck by a lot of people so not a lot of people probably know about it. Therefore it’s worth writing about. The change is about the Expert Riding skill training cost getting a price reduction. I really wish I knew this was coming because I got this for my DK just a few days ago before the patch came out. I could have saved some gold by waiting.
Expert Riding or riding skill 225 (150% flight speed) refers to the skill you need to ride the regular …read more
Onyxia Reset Timer Fixed

When patch 3.2.2 came out, our guild couldn’t do much because of some of the lag that usually comes with the release of a patch. But eventually our server stabilized enough for our guild master to decide to take a stab at the new Onyxia. I wasn’t able to join them but one of my friends who was in there with them announced with shock that it was one a one day reset timer.
I had my doubts about that and thought it was a bug. I mean the shortest raid reset in the game was Zul’gurub and Ruins of Ahn’qiraj, …read more

With the announcement of yesterday’s extended maintenance, it was certain that something was up and patch 3.2.2 was definitely on our minds as a possibility. Turns out that our suspicions were right as patch 3.2.2 was just released.
The retuning of Onyxia’s Lair for level 80 10/25 man raiding is the focus of this minor content patch. The loots drops resemble the original drops from the level 60 days including items that look like the tier 2 helms and even the Quel’serrar! There’s also a chance to get a non combat pet and even a flying mount that look like Onyxia …read more
Heirloom XP Bonus In BG’s

Heirlooms are such great things for leveling alts because it does two cool things. It scales with your level so need not constantly find a replacement for the slot that you’re using an heirloom on. But more importantly it gives XP bonuses for your character while leveling up and the effect stacks with other heirlooms. If you have an alt you’re seriously leveling and you have some spare emblems lying around, it should be a worthwhile investment.
Right now the heirlooms state that they increase the experience gained from killing monsters and from completing quests. So it’s actually not that surprising …read more
A while since we had a Tuesday like this

I’ve heard some buzz about today being the release date for patch 3.2.2 but turns out that’s not the case. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a special day. Today September 15, 2009 is a special day because we haven’t had a Tuesday like this in a while in terms of downtime.
Any announcement of downtime for the day, be it a rolling restart of maintenance (extended or not) is announced at the login page. There’s no such announcement whatsoever meaning there’s no downtime at all. It’s been so long since we’ve had a Tuesday without any kind downtime whatsoever that I …read more
Lowbies will now always get BG Dailies

As usual it’s not too surprising for me to miss out on something especially when it comes to patch notes and additions to the PTR. But at least now I caught it early enough, since the PTR is still up. Patch 3.2.2 is looking like a pretty good patch especially considering it’s a minor patch ushering in the Onyxia revamp, which is something you’d probably see in a major content patch rather than a minor one.
The entry that I saw only now is something concerning lowbies and the Battleground daily quests. I’m not a big fan of PvP and most …read more
New Loot added to Black Knight Loot Table

While patch 3.2.2’s main feature will be the revamp of the Onyxia’s Lair to tune it for a level 80 raid encounter, we’ll see a bunch of other nice changes in that minor patch. They already said that they’re going to deal with the problem in the first encounter of the Trial of the Champion so that players will no longer feel the need to exit the dungeon after the dismount. Well according to MMO Champion, Trial of the Champion has a nice surprise that’s already in the PTR.
Basically what they found out was a new nifty looking dagger called …read more
ToC 5 man Joust Fight Fixed in 3.2.2

Trial of the Champion is definitely an interesting idea for a dungeon run. It’s a short but rewarding run that also has pretty unique encounters and can be pretty challenging especially for players new to the fight and most especially in heroic mode. There’s also very little “trash” mobs, making you get into the real action right away.
The first encounter with the three random champions starts on horseback and is fought jousting style similar to how players do the Battle Before the Citadel quest when grouped with other people. Then players are dismounted and will have to fight the champions …read more
New class/race combinations in Xpac?

If you thought the rumor about Goblins and Worgen as new playable races huge news, that’s nothing compared to the stuff that’s written in MMO Champion right now. It’s a veritable gold mine of leaked information that has been data mined about the supposed next expansion, Cataclysm. Now the whole thing could pass for bogus information especially when you read about some of the far out stuff but then some of it actually looks like something Blizzard could do to the jury is still out. We’ll just have to wait on Blizzard’s announcement which could come soon since Blizzcon is …read more
Patch 3.2.2 PTR Notes Reveal More On Onyxia
August 14, 2009 by Angelo Fernandez
The patch 3.2.2 is already in the public test realm and the PTR notes are out already. Aside from announcing mostly some class changes, these notes also clarify a few things about the Onyxia raid comeback that was announced recently.
As was announced, Blizzard is bringing back the Onyxia raid dungeon and retuning it for 10/25 man raiding instead of the original 40 man one. It has been made 100% clear that this will be a level 80 raid and therefore, being a permanent update, the level 60 version will no longer exist when patch 3.2.2 is released. They will be …read more
