Heirloom transfer improvements coming

Leveling an alt that is supported by your main character(s) already had its advantage before since it could get gold, mats and other things easier than if you had no support at all. Bind on account items or Heirlooms as they are often called made this support even better.
If you’ve taken the time to consider it, you’ll realize that the term Heirloom is more accurate right now because it’s something your main or any of your other high level characters can get and pass on to lower level characters. Bind on account is a misnomer since it currently is more …read more
Heirloom XP Bonus In BG’s

Heirlooms are such great things for leveling alts because it does two cool things. It scales with your level so need not constantly find a replacement for the slot that you’re using an heirloom on. But more importantly it gives XP bonuses for your character while leveling up and the effect stacks with other heirlooms. If you have an alt you’re seriously leveling and you have some spare emblems lying around, it should be a worthwhile investment.
Right now the heirlooms state that they increase the experience gained from killing monsters and from completing quests. So it’s actually not that surprising …read more
Deathwing and interaction with players

We have yet to see patch 3.3 which will bring us the final installment of the Wrath of the Lich King story but we can already say with conviction that Blizzard has learned from their lesson with Illidan in The Burning Crusade. In TBC, only a small percentage of the players really got to see Illidan and also the bigger baddie Kil’jaeden because you had to be a raider to see them and how they fit in with the whole story. In Wrath of the Lich King, players get to see the Lich King in various stages of the leveling …read more
More Class Q&A’s Coming

Blizzard featured the many class Q&A’s in the past which highlighted some of the thoughts and plans that the development team had for the many classes at the time and also for the future. But just when it looked like it was doing good time, Blizzard released patch 3.2 and the rogue and priest Q&A’s just barely made it in time. That really did seem odd to me but I guess the release of the awaited patch became the focus of everyone’s attention so all was pretty good.
According to CM Zarhym, we should expect to see another round of class …read more
Tier 9 Art Preview from World of Raids

One of the anticipated features of the upcoming patch 3.2 is the Crusader’s Coliseum. It’s not only anticipated for the new raid content that will come with it but also because the new tiered gear that will come out of this raid dungeon will have different set designs for both factions. having a faction specific design for your class tier 9 set is a nice idea since it gives players a certain sense of connection and pride of your faction rather than just your class.
Unfortunately this idea isn’t what you think. It’s not 20 sets of gear giving a unique …read more

Flying in Northrend at level 68?
When you think about it, it makes a little bit of sense since they already lowered the prerequisite level to use flying mounts to level 60. Getting Cold Weather Flying at level 68 is just Blizzard being consistent. I’m talking about the new item found in the patch 3.2 PTR called Tome of Cold Weather Flight.
According to CM Zarhym, the Tome of Cold Weather Flight is an heirloom item level 80 players can buy their alts for 1,000 gold who are on the same server, faction and account to give them Cold Weather Fliyng. This …read more
On Emblem of Triumph and more

Patch 3.2 will bring us the Crusader’s Coliseum and with it a new tier of gear for all players. According to the PTR patch notes, the new emblem gear will be purchasable by the new emblem type Emblem of Triumph which drops off the Coliseum raid bosses (and I guess the upcoming new boss in Vault of Archavon). But here’s where things get interesting. unlike the other emblem types, the Emblem of Triumph will also be a reward for doing the normal and heroic dungeon daily quests!
This move is quite creative in my opinion because it gives players a certain …read more
Mount Changes Coming in Patch 3.2

I wrote a piece quite a while ago about the 60% speed ground mounts being made available at level 30 from the original level 40. I got quite a response especially since there was a discussion about whether level 40 lost some of it’s “prestige” by taking away mounts from that level. Getting your mounts earlier is always a good thing but I just felt a bit bad since getting your first mount used to be one of the highlights of hitting level 40, among a few other things.
Well if you thought you got excited about the change to …read more
“New things” in store for Emblem system

With the announcement of what’s in store for us in the upcoming patch 3.2, it’s not unusual to start setting our sights on the raid dungeon that’s coming in that patch and even the Icecrown Citadel itself when patch 3.3 comes out. It would certainly be nice to have as many people as possible be able to go that far. This was the idea behind making the raids available in both 10 man and 25 man versions.
It’s nice to be able to advance in the progression of raid content but one of the things making it hard for some people …read more
Ulduar 10 hard modes getting better rewards

It’s already been quite a while since Ulduar came out so some of the novelty of the dungeon has probably worn off for some people. Whether such is the case for you or not, the fact is that some guilds have already mowed their way through the content. I guess I’m not saying that it’s too easy but the fact is hard mode encounters for bosses in Ulduar are already being attempted and accomplished with at least some success.
The nerf that Ulduar got last week was probably something done to get more people get some success in their progression …read more
